A long time ago in a galaxy far far away there were rumors that Mariah Carey was bisexual. I haven’t heard these rumors, maybe they were more prevalent in the early 90s or something. Now Mariah is married to Nick Cannon and pregnant with his child (yay! Unicorns dance and feast to celebrate the coming of this child), but she is speaking out about the bisexual rumors in an interview with the Advocate.

”If it makes somebody happy to say that, then whatever, but that’s not the reality. I don’t have a discriminatory policy of who I’m friends with, so yes, I’m friends with women who are gay – gay, straight, it doesn’t matter to me. So I don’t get upset when I hear that, because it is what it is. I guess I could lie about it to seem more exciting.”

Honestly, I don’t want to think about Mariah Carey having sex. Even if it is true that butterflies and rainbows shoot out of her vadge. It’s soooo awesome that she has lesbian friends. I want to be her lesbian friend! Mariah is also an LGBT rights supporter, saying that she believes in marriage equality.

“If two people want to get married, it’s their prerogative – we hope. Everybody should be able to do what they want to do and be in the pursuit of happiness. Ever since I was a little girl, my mother was very open-minded and had many different types of friends, so being gay never seemed wrong or strange to me.”

So yeah, there you have it. Mariah Carey is not bisexual and rainbows and butterflies shoot out of her vadge. Maybe her next Advocate interview will address THAT rumor.
