Uganda’s “Kill The Gays” Bill Author Coming To Washington, D.C. Next Week… GET HIM!!!!

Melanie Nathan – Dec – 03-2010 - We hear that  Member of Uganda’s Parliament, M.P.  David Bahati  is planning to enter the USA to attend a Conference.

He is NOT welcome – if he is not denied a Visa into this Country - then all hell MUST break loose.  Truly – here we are in this the United States of America pleading and begging for our LGBT rights – our same -sex spouses are apart because their foreign partners cannot get VISAS to visit and in some instances that applies to a mere few days -for some deprived of a kiss – a hand hold  – and this piece of human hatred is getting a VISA?

Box Turtle reports : “In addition to campaigning for re-election during the recess, Mr. Bahati plans to travel to the United States next week with a group of MPs to attend the 2010 Winter Conference of the  International Consortium of Governmental Financial Management. The conference will be held in Washington DC from Dec. 6-8.

Parliament is now in recess in preparation for the February Parliamentary elections. Bahati expects the Anti-Homosexuality Bill to be considered during the Parliament’s lame-duck session between the elections and the installation of the next Parliament in May.

ALL HELL Breaking loose – We must make him feel extremely unwelcome if he gets in to this Country. I am not encouraging violence of any kind – I am talking about loud and very noisy protests.   If he is allowed in this Country – I plan to fly from SFO to DC and hope you will all connect with me and join me there.

If anyone wants to donate Mileage to allow for a group of activists  to go please advise….

I reported yesterday that Anti-Homosexuality Bill author David Bahati plans to attend a professional conference in Washington DC next week, Dec. 6-8. After that post, Change.org author Michael Jones posted an article and petition targeting the conference organizers – the  International Consortium of Governmental Financial Management.

Then earlier today, this note appeared on the Change.org petition:

“According to Doug Hadden, the Vice President of Communications for the International Consortium of Governmental Financial Management, “David Bahati will not be attending this conference.” Bahati, for his part, is still telling folks, including Warren Throckmorton and author Jeff Sharlet, that he is attending. I talked to Mr. Bahati this morning who assured me that he was planning to attend and that all the arrangements were set. Then, I contacted Doug Hadden who told me, by email, that Mr. Bahati had indeed registered by email, which was an automated process. However, Mr. Hadden added that

Hon. Bahati has not paid and ICGFM will not accept payment from him. The ICGFM Executive Committee has agreed that his attendence is not consistent with the mission of the organization.    Mr. Hadden said that the venue is secure, consequently he will be blocked out.

As noted, I talked to Mr. Bahati this morning who assured me that he was planning to attend and that all the arrangements were set. Then, I contacted Doug Hadden who told me, by email, that Mr. Bahati had indeed registered by email, which was an automated process. However, Mr. Hadden added that
