Lawrence O’Donnell Thumps Trump For Continued Race-Baiting

The entire debate over President Barack Obama’s birth certificate, and his educational background not only smacks of race-baiting, but flat out racism. The notion that a Black man- though let us be honest here, Obama is of mixed racial background as he is half White and half Black- could be educated, intelligent and well written is beyond the comprehension of those who believe that a Black person or any person of any race other than White could be intelligent and well written. Of course, these are people who believe that anyone with so much as a drop of non-White blood in them is not White. I guess that includes me since my ancestors include a member of the Napissing Ottawa.

As Lawrence O’Donnell thumped not only Donald Trump, a rich spoiled brat of an old man, his guest talked about the attitudes prevalent nearly two centuries ago with regards to the writing of Frederick Douglas.

Let us go a bit further than that. There is an archaeological site in Africa called Great Zimbabwe. The first excavator there ripped up everything that was native to the plateau because he could not believe that African tribesman had the ability to create a magnificent structure like that edifice. Great Zimbabwe is not the only one of those edifices to dot the African landscape. It is merely the most famous.

For over a century, there was a persistent belief that the pyramids of Central America could not have been made by the local Maya and Aztec. They had to be made by Egyptians, those who wished to deny the intellectual abilities of the local population would say. They were not, of course. They were made by Mayans and Aztecs.

This is, and has always been about race. The Africans built Great Zimbabwe. The Mayans and Aztecs built their pyramids. Just because Trump and his ilk had ancestors who were bigger murdering bastards than some other ethnic group does not mean that those ethnicities that they were busy slaughtering in the name of God were any less intelligent, less sophisticated, or less human than anyone else.

So, here is O’Donnell not only calling out Trump, but NBC for continuing to support this rich, spoiled brat’s continued smearing of our President.
