George Takei can make just about anything sound sexy, including the phone book. He has released a wonderful little video taking on the Tennessee Legislature over the “Don’t Say Gay” bill. Takei recently announced that he was putting his name out there to be used instead of ‘gay’ by those in Tennessee schools who wanted to use it.
Takei notes that just by banning the word gay will not make gays disappear.
Takei has gone beyond that. The star of Star Trek and guest on Heros and Futurama, where he moderated the debate over robosexual marriage, has also launched a line of for-charity merchandise with the slogan “It’s OK to be Takei”. In fact, I would love to get my hands on one of the mugs.
George Takei is one of the major voices in the LGBT Movement these days, and one of the most funny as well.
He closes out with “Have a TAKEI old time!”
