Obsession With Weiner Obscures Perry’s Prayer Day With Hate Group AFA

06/11/11-by Bridgette P. LaVictoire
The scandal over Anthony Weiner’s penis is one of those manufactured fake scandals which, quite honestly, shouldn’t matter in politics. Let us face it, there is nothing less interesting than a man showing off his wang, as the Daily Show’s Kristen Shaal pointed out not long ago. Instead, there are many things which the American public should be paying attention to, but are not. For instance, Texas Governor Rick Perry wants to hold a day or prayer and fasting in order to, supposedly solve America’s problems.

He stated about this that the solution to America’s problems will be found on one’s knees. Well, that might be true. I am sure that having people getting down on their knees would make politicians a lot happier in a very Bill Clinton manner of speaking.

The thing is, Perry’s little prayer and fasting day is being sponsored by the American Family Association, which is a known hate group. The AFA is anti-gay, anti-women, anti-Hispanic, anti-Native American, anti-Black, and pretty much a white supremacist organization masquerading as a religious group. Why is Perry not being asked by, say, Andrew Breitbart to step down as governor? Where is the FOX outrage at the fact that this man is associated with noted bigot Bryan Fischer, a man who can often make the German Nazis look like Liberals?

The problem is that they would much rather discuss Weiner’s schlong than discuss the spreading of hatred and bigotry across the country. Apparently, a man’s penis is more important to the prurient and adolescent interests of the media and the Republican Party than people’s lives.

Last night, Dr. Rachel Maddow discussed this entire issue, and I hope she will forgive me for tagging on her show’s clip after a long rant about the media’s obsession with a man’s hot dog.

So is the National Day of Prayer a violation of the First Amendment?

Yes, and so is that one, Phil. It is tantamount to endorsing a religion over non-religion. It violates the rights of atheists. There must be a way found to acknowledge them too.

The big problem, though, is that Perry is holding this with a known hate group. Then again, the National Day of Prayer is also being pushed by C-Street, which is a really nice hate group too.

Perry prays with other Christians and it awful. Pelosi marches with NAMBLA and that’s perfectly O.K. to you. Barry O is close a associate with an admitted terrorist and that’s perfectly O.K. to you. What a sad and demented world you must live in!

A governor calling for a day of prayer and fasting is a violation of the First Amendment protections of Freedom from and of Religion. It would be nice if you not only learned your Constitution, but didn’t get your ‘facts’ from FOX News since Obama was not a close associate of Bill Ayers. Now, the demented one is you, sir, no me. Please don’t bother to stink up my blog any more.
