Alyssa Rodemeyer Talks About Continued Bullying Of Late Brother Jamey

If you put your average bully into a situation where they will get into trouble, they will stand there and piss their pants if they can’t run. Alyssa Rodemeyer, sister of Jamey Rodemeyer, went on AC360 to discuss the continued bullying of her late brother, including the incident at the homecoming dance where bullies yelled “We’re glad you’re dead”, and “You’re better off dead.”

The bullies hightailed it out of there the moment they knew that they were going to be in a whole heap of trouble. Alyssa told Anderson Cooper “I don’t know who would have the heart to disrespect someone even after they’re dead. It’s mindblowing.”

Of course, that is part of the problem, is it not? It always has been. These are people who have been conditioned to believe that human life is worthless and that anyone who is the “other” deserves to die. Apparently “strong family values” includes making sure that children learn that human life is expendable, and that it is alright to hate someone even if they die.

And those opposed to tolerance and equality say that the LGBT Community is trying to destroy families and does not value life.

Alyssa, you are phenomenal…strong, compassionate, and wise beyond your years…you are empowering others.

You are teaching that “Telling is not Tattling”…it is a vital, necessary avenue to protect oneself and others. Students are often the first to know critical information “under the radar”. You are teaching and empowering others to tell a trusted adult: parent, educator, school resource officer.

Jamey and you are teaching many and giving others strength.

Alyssa, hope you and your family feel from others: love, compassion, strength, and appreciation encircling you.
