Musical Interlude

“Women want somebody with command, with confidence. Someone who wouldn’t take no for an answer. We want somebody arrogant and gorgeous with a terrifying sexual appetite and an amazing range of sexual technique. But when it comes right down to it, you know what? We’ll settle for a man.” Of course, the first time I ever hear that, my first thought was…why the hell would I settle for a man?
I have been watching Coupling again, which is where that line comes from. Needless to say, for some odd reason, I have never liked most romantic comedies. I just tend to enjoy raunchy sitcoms, raunchy comic strips, and oddly sexual humour. Yes, I tend to enjoy sexual farce.
I am not a typical woman. That is rather certain. Recently, ABC ran a show about transsexuality that has gotten a lot of flack from various people. Too often, it is easy to forget that being a woman is not as easy as it seems, or as simple. I can’t stand a lot of things that some people think are normal for women.
Well, tonight, I am going to run the theme song from Coupling. This song is one of the reasons why Amazon has a horrible time profiling me.

It’s also the song from a beautiful, pivotal scene in “Strictly Ballroom”…
