Thomas Roberts: GOP Wants To Go Back To When Slavery Was Cool

MSNBC anchor Thomas Roberts is one of the few openly gay or lesbian news anchors in the cable news industry these days. Yesterday, he gave a very pointed and heated commentary about the booing of an American soldier during the GOP debate. Specifically, he denounced the fact that the GOP candidates did not condemn the booing until after the debate was over, and they did so in often tepid tones. He especially did not like the fact that Santorum referred to the lifting of the ban on the service of openly gay soldiers as “social experimentation.”

He stated “I get out of all of these things that many of these candidates would rather take legislation to build a time machine and go back in time to where we had no women voting, slavery was cool.”

He also commented on the fact that, apparently, Santorum believes that the people in the military do not have sex- at all.
