In an appearance on CNN’s Piers Morgan Tonight, Texas mega church pastor Joel Osteen shared his view on same-sex marriage, and said the scripture relating to gays will not change.
“It would be against my faith to marry two gay people,” said Osteen, noting that, of the many marriages mentioned in the Bible, none were same-sex.
Yet, Osteen and his wife did later say they would have no problem attending a same-sex wedding, if the gay or lesbian couple happened to be friends of theirs.

Concerning Joel Osteen first you come across as too smug to me, second “never say never”!
I was raised and taught what Joel and “Light” mentioned. For years I simply believed that. Then I did something quite radical for an evangelical – I actually read and deeply studied what the Bible actually said. Using the tools and methods from my education at a good Christian college and Grad school. This is where “never say never” comes in. To my surprise what is really there is quite different and those few passages are not nearly as clear as you think they are. God and the Bible do not put LGBT folks down like you seem to think.

The bible – which is also the same as jesus himself says in – romans 1 – 27 :28
“And the men, instead of having normal sexual relations with women, burned with lust for each other. Men did shameful things with other men, and as a result of this sin, they suffered within themselves the penalty they deserved”
‘And just as they did not see fit to acknowledge God any longer, God gave them over to a depraved mind, to do those things which are not proper’
this is the new testament – after the death of Christ.
this means for those gays who still feel what they are doing is wrong – then there is still hope for you.
but those who are convinced that they doing nothing wrong – then it means GOD has given you over to a reprobate mind. not to acknowledge your sins- In other words he’ll make you enjoy what you are doing until its too late.
That means my friends – the one who spoke the entire universe into existence, is beginning to give up on you.
that is the most terrible thing to befall a person.
repent.

Joel is human. Most people, clergy in particular forget they are only created in God’s image.
Sin, which the nickname for disobedience is a crime that we are all guilty of. If you search the KJV of the bible for the word ‘rape’, you won’t find it.
Why because the term “lay with” is usage meaning to put ones will or desire upon another. The only time that “lay with” is used when referring to a woman’s will or desire being put upon or imposed another is in the O.T. and that is with an animal or beast.
In the book of Roman’s, when woman gave up the ‘natural use’, the natural use was for procreation.
The unnatural use was for anything outside of procreation. Now here is something that takes the beard off of the whole sex=sin issue, octogenarians have a libido but, they can not reproduce. I’m not an authority nor am I God. Why would God leave the elders with a libido? Love? O.k. that removes the stamp of righteousness off of heterosexual copulating which outside of marriage is a sin called, fornication. I hope you’re keeping up with
the scriptures? If woman kind gave up the natural, (we’re now reading from the N.T. in the book of Roman’s) but did not give it up to be with other women? No, look at the following verse “likewise, man gave up the natural and did what was not convenient with other “men”. Now women did commit unnatural acts seduction, masturbation, fellatio etc, with men. Were these acts outside of marriage or public lewdness. The following verses may shed some light. Here there is no clear distinction between the acts committed. Was the unnatural act fellatio or sodomy? It appears for the sake of politics, lesbianism was pulled under the bus in the final translation. There is also mention of male priests in the O.T., which means that males weren’t the only priests. Who were the other priests?
What appears clear, love is not a sin, nor is it synonumous with sex or lust, sperm is precious, womankind were created for mankin to reproduce, husbands had responsibilty their own wives and family. Marriage was more a covenant with God than just the two people involved. It was most likely created to protect progeny not to create hatred or self righteousness between adults.

That is your interpretation of the Bible. Others have different views…there are millions of different views on this subject.
