Westboro To Protest First Gay Presbyterian Church Pastor Ordination

Presbyterian Church (U.S.A) is set to ordain Scott Anderson as its first openly gay pastor this weekend.

Anderson, an official with the Wisconsin Council of Churches, will be ordained on Saturday in a ceremony will take place at Covenant Presbyterian Church in Madison. WI.

This historic shift in policy came after decades of conversations in churches and communities around the country. Anderson’s ordination follows a vote earlier this year in which a majority of presbyteries in the PCUSA approved deleting the denomination’s standard for sexual conduct of its ordained officers.

However, the Westboro Baptist Church, doesn’t agree and plans to show up on Saturday to demonstrate outside the ceremony.

WBC wrote on their website “Scott Anderson has no hope of heaven, and you know it. Yet, you refuse to tell him the truth and enable him in his sin. God Hates Fags and Fag-Enablers alike — you are all worthy of death (hell).”

According to WISC-TV, Margie Phelps, spoke to the station via Skype on Thursday and said that they believe they have a mission.”That’s an important event in Heaven and on earth. And it’s our duty as the church of the Lord, Jesus Christ, to come to the scene and remind people of their duty to God, so that’s why we’re coming.”

Given the fact that WBC is so strongly full of hatred of others, it would not be surprising if they end up having very few of their cult members getting into Heaven either given the number of times the Bible tells Christians not to hate.

Here is a video about the ordination:

    The WBC >_>

What they do is for attention and attention only. They care not for religion, faith or even the divine and whats to come, they serve only one god, and it is that of ego. Honestly what can you expect from a group of people lead by a confirmed lying theif? When he finally kicks the bucket, will Shirley, the one with a child out of wedlock, be next? How can they protest and hate on so many things they are guilty of as well?

Fred Phelps is a disbarred lawyer. His 82nd birthday is in five weeks. He’ll be gone soon, but not soon enough.

His group is supposed to be in Madison this weekend to protest the ordination of a gay minister at a Presbyterian Church. Us Cheeseheads are planning a warm reception.

Westboro Baptist Church spreads its hate through picketing in our streets, provoking attacks, with abusive language and flag desecration, attempting to create a confrontation. This is not a church, this is a hate group. This is not about protesting, freedom, or God. They are in it for the money and the press; this is a family law firm. They are not a “church.” It is a scam. They go after anything that can get them in the news. This is a family of lawyers using this “god hates you” thing to make money. It is time for this scam to end.

Westboro also plans to picket Steve Jobs’s funeral, for reasons I can barely fathom. The message was sent via iPhone. No kidding.

While I admit it would be interesting to see them arrive at the Gate of Pearl and have it slammed in their faces because of their hatred. I do hope that they see that all they are doing is laying up a debt against themselves that will have to be paid.
