The Family Research Council’s Action committee has decided that being opposed to gay marriage and abortion trumps paying your own child support, so they have named Representative Joe Walsh of Illinois as one of their “True Blue Members.” In their statement of endorsement, FRC; Tony Perkins said of Walsh, “We thank congressman Walsh who has voted consistently to defend faith, family and freedom. Congressman Walsh and other “True Blue Members” have voted to repeal Obamacare, defund Planned Parenthood, end government funding for abortions, uphold the Defense of Marriage Act and continue support for school choice. I applaud their commitment to uphold the institutions of marriage and family.”

That is so wrong on so many levels….

Walsh is embroiled in a court battle over the $117,437 he owes his first wife in back child support for three of his five children. He insists he was too poor to pay the child support while loaning his own campaign $35,000 and taking international vacations with his second wife. He didn’t bother to show up for one of the hearings because he was too important, being a congressman and all. Yeah, like his one vote would break a tie in the House.

As for that “faith” part in FRC’s praise of him. Walsh is a Roman Catholic. Last time I looked, divorce was still forbidden without papal dispensation. Once he remarried, he was no longer a full member of the church and could no longer receive the sacraments. Technically, a Catholic marriage can only be annulled if a flaw in the original marriage is proven.

At least these anti-abortion, anti-gay fanatics are consistent…..nothing else matters except saving the embryo and stopping the gays having civil rights. Women should die from pregnancy complications, wedding vows can be broken, marriages walked away from, children abandoned, women and girls raped, committed couples denied the most basic rights, gay youths bullied into suicide, anything is acceptable just as long as there are no abortions and no gay rights.

Joe Walsh isn’t a “true blue” defender of families. He’s a deadbeat jackass. And Tony Perkins has once again proven what a raging bigot and hypocrite he is.
