Hate-Group Upset Over Macy’s Ad Including Two Men Wedding Topper

Woohoo! Apparently Macy’s Department Stores has been busy trying to make sure that their LGBT customers know that they are welcome. Of course, the fact that their newest catalogue includes a picture of a wedding cake topper of two men instead of a man and a woman is earning the ire of some like, well, the hate-group affiliated One Million Moms. They recently wrote:

Recently Macy’s Department store mailed its newest catalogue out to many Americans. In the hopes of making sales, instead they offended many customers in the process. The back cover looks like just a regular advertisement for their wedding registry service, but there is one major difference.

When you take a closer look you see the cake topper of two men instead of the traditional man and woman. The ad also includes a license plate that reads “I do” and hearts scattered everywhere. Macy’s must believe this is mainstream, but just because gay marriage is legal in a few states, this is inappropriate marketing and conservative customers will not support it.

TAKE ACTION

Please send Macy’s an email letter below asking that they discontinue their “two groom” advertisement. Many of our supporters have already spoken up concerning Macy’s policy on transgender men allowed into women’s dressing rooms, and we will continue to speak out on traditional values. Some of our members have reported that they requested that their Macy’s store credit card account be closed and shared the reason behind their decision. During our last campaign, we did not receive a reply from Macy’s, but this does not mean that we will give up.

Yes! Let us take action sisters and brothers and use their easily altered letter to send Macy’s a message- that we support their decision to show support for us, and that hatred would rather hide behind form letters and threats of boycotts.

    Donnell:

Though I do not like using the word hate for I know that there are good and loving people who disagree with me and my beliefs. OMM continues to try to strong arm companies to stand with them in their conservative agenda.

Macy’s is open to true equality not the semi equality that so many on the right tend to think is God ordained and justified. And Donnell regarding the Scriptures if you care to research this the word homosexual was not in our lexicon until the late 1800′s. And our modern interpreters chose that word in Scriptures like 1 Cor 6, II Timothy etc.

I totally understand where you are coming from for I once believed as you did and as well participated in ex-gay ministry for 20 years. I honestly think it would be good and wise of you to get to know some gay men and women and begin to understand them as real human beings made in His image. As well you would see there is no gay lifestyle that is reported by the conservative church. Just men and women from different races, beliefs, social strata, etc… that happen to be gay. For if there is a gay lifestyle then there is a Christian lifestyle, a Jewish lifestyle, a male and a female lifestyle.

Much like an alcoholic who drinks to their death, you can contiue your perversion and defend it all you want it does not make it right.

It is easier for you to defend your perversion, by calling those who see homosexuality as a persersion – haters and liars. That is the M O for those who live a lifestyle of sin.

Homosexuality is a perversion based on my study of the scripture, is my opinion based on my study scripture, that does not make me a liar. Calling me and OMM, liars and hates makes it easier for you to defend your perversion, in your mind and in your circle of those who live the same lifestyle.

You have much misinformation, calling it truth and professing yourself to be wise.

The good news is you have much to learn about God: His love for you, His gift of salvation, His grace for living and the truth found in His Word.

May God Bless You and Give You Understanding To Live According to His Truth, not my opinion nor yours.

      Donnell,

When you can prove that homosexuality is a ‘perversion’ without the Bible, then we can talk. The problem is that you cannot, thus your arguments are based upon something that cannot be defined as being a universal belief, and even a belief that is outside of what is known to be accurate and based off of information in the here and now, not based upon a society that is now two-thousand years in the dust.

My information is not misinformation. It is based upon reality.

And, Donnell, I know more about the Bible, about Biblical history, and Biblical philosophy than the vast majority of Christians. Incidentally, your Pride and your obvious belief that you are Saved means that you are not. You have no humility, and no grasp of what is at the core of Christianity.

      Good day.

OMM boycott of Macy’s is based on their belief system and you call them haters. You boycott christian stores based on your belief system – what’s the difference? Double standard here.

One tactic groups who promote perversion use, is to try to discredit those who do not belive as they do, by calling them haters – you are trying to discredit OMM because they believe that homosexuality is immoral and perverted, just like I believe it is.

OMM is a lovely group of moms who promote family and traditional values. AFM is a group of people who also promote morallity and traditional family values. Both groups hate no one.

Both groups have the power in numbers and the good sense to use that power to bring about effective change for the strength of the family.

They have no hate of you. They have told no lies, they have expressed an opinion base on their belief system and rallied to the cause.

In my study of scripture – God calls homosexuality an obomination, and clearly describes the act and lifestyle. That’s all I need to turn away from or avoid promiting this agenda.

You are not the obomination, your lifestyle is. God loves you, but hates yours and my sin.

I am in no way saying you are a bad person. I am saying you are deceived by the lie that homosexuality is normal and is OK. You have bought into the lie.

You can try and back up your perverted lifestyle with all the data you can find to make your case.

It is my choice to see that the perverted homosexual agenda is not promoted as a hormal lifestyle – as I believe it is not. I find my truth in scripture, the Bible, Gods love letter to His children – not His creation – there is a difference.

Another misconception you have is: why does one go to hell? I won’t play that game, trying to discredit someone by saying they are “going to hell” One who does not accept Jesus, goes to hell. Christ died for you. He paid the price for our sin.
It is your choise; to accept Jesus or reject Him.

I will boycott Macys’s until they stop promoting what I consider to be pervered lifestyle. Macys is my favorite store, this is going to hurt.

I’m take a stand to be one small voice of millions who choose to work together to help stop the moral decay taking place in this world.

      Donnell,

What I learned growing up is that no matter what one says about accepting Christ, if you do not live entirely by what He said, then you do not gain entrance to Heaven. Since you are willing to lie and to support liars, then you do not accept Christ in truth. But, whatever. Different views on God and Christ, huh?

AS for the supposed immorality of homosexuality, I have read the Bible, and quite a lot of the Gospels that were excluded from the official version, and I’ve read a number of different versions including several taken straight from the original texts- and I have a friend who is far, far more versed in the Bible than I am, and I can tell you that, like it or not, your interpretation of the Bible and of homosexuality are modern in origin and not true to the Bible. Still, your actions are your own, and as I pointed out, when you have to lie, then you are a hate group. I have Truth on my side, you do not.

The problem is that our views differ. So long as yours are based solely on religious beliefs and lacking in anything nearing scientific or factual reality, then there is nothing to discuss. You can believe what you want, shop where you want, but so long as you lie and distort, then you must rely upon hate. Sorry if you cannot see that.

Thus ends this conversation. Good bye.

    Erin,

Please reconsider what you are saying. I am not black but I am in a “mixed race marriage.” I have been bullied, ostracized and worse. But I wonder.. do you really believe in your heart of hearts that “gay rights” and “black rights” are really equal and should be dealt with as such? Skin color and behaviour are two VERY different things. Please don’t make an analogy that offends the legacy of Martin Luther King.

      January 29, 2012 at 10:55 pm

      Jakes,

Part of the problem here is that there are two different sets of rights involved- Political and Civil. Political rights are things like voting rights, the right to hold office, the right to be involved in the political process. Civil rights are things like where you can live, work, how much you get paid, where you can get an education, etc.

The Gay Rights movement is about the latter- civil rights.

There is also the problem that, like it or not, the vast majority of lesbians and gays are genetically pre-disposed to preferring people of the same sex when it comes to relationships. Even if that was not the case, think about it like this- you cannot be denied work, housing, etc if you are Jewish, Muslim, or Christian- and religion is a behavior. You are not born Jewish- you are born of the Semitic people certainly, but you are not born genetically part of a religion. You can convert.

That is, of course, a moot point since the preponderance of data that is out there shows that being gay or lesbian has a physical and even a genetic root. So, Erin’s analogy is correct.

Funny how people call other people “haters” just because they disagree. The One Million Moms is no more a hate group than Green Peace. They are both groups with strong beliefs that many others do not hold, but that does NOT make them a hate group.

      Marc,

The difference between a hate group and a belief group is how they defend their beliefs. One Million Moms, like many anti-LGBT groups- rely upon lies in order to defend their beliefs. They have no truth backing what they believe other than their religious convictions, which are not enough, honestly, in this nation where freedom from religion exists.

Mac – is right on, God calls us to love. I do not hate lesbians, I have a few in my family. They know know that I love them, they also know that I biblicaly disaprove of there actions. It is not a alternate lifestyle it is sin. We are ALL sinners, we can all be forgiven through Jseus Christ.

One Million Moms of which I am a member is not a “hate” group. You try to discredit them so you can validate your “opinion” and lifestyle that I beleive is immoral – my opinion, my choice based on my life decisions.

I just watch a series of movies about the end times – throughout the movies, the lost people called anyone who disagreed with them “haters” in their attempts to shut them up and discredit them.

I see this happening in our current society – Obama does it, the gay/l call anyone who does not agree with their immoral life style haters – I judge hate by ones actions.
Disagreeing with your lifestle does not make one a hater. You can defend your lifestyle all you want, I will never agree that same sex, married or not is OK – My choice.
I can chose where I spend my money – I choose not to support business that openly, in my face, support immoral choices – again my choice. This will not change my reaction to you – you are lost in your sin, a very sad place to be, I was there once – My response is to love you, not treat you with hate – but I do not have to support your, in my eyes, immoral choices.
      The world is upside down.
Should Macy’s continue to be “in my face” like many of you seem to want to be and favor same sex that I believe is immoral, again, my choice, I will not shop there. Simple fact. My choices, do not make me a hater. I am tired of all the immoral people trying to make a case for their immoral lifestyles and their in your face attitudes. I follow the truth of God, the only truth for me – that is the truth of the matter. Someday you will meet the truth face to face.

I believe the Bible also says that lying is immoral- in fact far more immoral than love/sex between two people of the same sex. A hate group is defined not by their opinion, but upon their absolute use of inaccuracies, lies, and distortions in order to try and validate their opinion. That is what OMM and the AFA do all the time. They rely upon false information, lies and distortions in order to try and justify their hatred. Quite frankly, you have the right to do whatever you want. You can go spend your money where you want, and you can disapprove of my relations if you wish, but you do not have the right to lie and distort to do so. OMM is wrong about the fact that such an advert is outside the mainstream. Support for same-sex marriage is far higher than it use to be- beyond the 50% threshold. Additionally, given that OMM is an affiliate of the AFA which routinely makes racist statements, I might point out that not only is OMM a homophobic group, but it is a racist hate-group as well.

You see, you have every right to take care of your personal actions, but when it comes to using lies to limit my personal actions, then you are part of a hate group. Let Macy’s advertise as they want- and if you do not support them, walk away. I do not shop at Christian stories and refuse to shop at Chick-Fil-A, but you do not hear me calling for boycotts of them left and right as if their actions are not their own.

Sorry, but OMM is a hate group. I would stop calling them that if they, oh, say, stopped lying and stopped using distortions. If they just wanted to say ‘my belief in the Bible says that homosexuality is immoral, but I cannot come up with an actual argument to say how it hurts society’, then I would be fine with them, and they would not be a hate group.

But still, enjoy Hell given the fact that you are one of those supporting a liar and bearer of false witness.

Why do you refer to One Million Moms as a hate group? They are expressing their opinion, just as you do here. You and they just happen to have different opinions. Do you consider yourself a member of a hate group?

They are an affiliate of the SPLC recognized hate group known as the American Family Association. Thus, they are a hate group.

      Frank,

There’s a difference between a group which states their opinion and one that fights to play keep away with basic human rights of a particular group of people.

I’m a white woman married to a black man. There was a point in time where interracial marriage wasn’t legal. The KKK is still against it. Would you say the KKK “are expressing their opinion”? Or would you call them a hate group?

And before you ask the question, yes I’m comparing One Million Moms, One Million Dads, and the AFA to the KKK. I see no difference there.
