Showing once again that the people we should be electing to office are not the people who want to run, Cindy and Meghan McCain have both come back for a second NOH8 photo shoot. They are the wife and daughter of Arizona Senator John McCain. The campaign is helmed by photographer-activist Adam Bouska and his partner Jeff Parshley. The campaign is a silent protest to raise awareness and funds for gay rights causes.
The two men have been photographing celebrities as well as everyday folk with duct tape across their mouths and the word NOH8 often on one cheek.
The McCain women did three photos. The first has the two of them together and then they did one each individually. OnTopMag reports that:
Cindy McCain also starred in a NOH8 Campaign video for the It Gets Better Project where she appeared to break with her husband over repeal of “Don’t Ask, Don’t Tell.”
In the video, which starred a bevy of celebrities, she blamed discriminatory laws and religious dogma for driving gay teens to kill themselves.
“Our political and religious leaders tell LGBT youth that they have no future,” McCain said.
The McCain women have been vocally in support of LGBT rights even as Senator McCain has been vocally opposed.
