Mitt Romney Making Use Of Santorum’s Google Problem

Rick Santorum has a Google Problem, and it is one that Mitt Romney hopes to cash in on going forward. His campaign is not only sponsoring the website which is at the center of Santorum’s Google problem, and he may even push it further going forward.

Santorum’s problem came about because back in 2003, Dan Savage created a prank neologism based on Santorum’s name following the push by Santorum to do things like get same-sex marriage banned via a Constitutional Amendment, and after he claimed that homosexuality was aking to ‘man on dog sex.’

Over at Towleroad, they noted that there is a reason why Santorum’s real sites have not been able to push Savage’s site off the map. They talked to Danny Sullivan of SearchEngineLand. He explained that Santorum “hasn’t maintained any type of official ‘residence,’ if you will, for himself online,” Mr. Sullivan wrote in an e-mail. “So he can’t build up links to the right place, which in turn would help him rise, and here he is doing it again. He’s effectively redirected all the ‘calls’ to his official number and pointed them to some call center, in Internet terms.”
