One Million Moms Upset Over Racy Liquid Plumr Commercial

One Million Moms apparently never bothered to watch the Liquid Plumr commercial with the sound on because they missed that the woman in question also made sounds of arousal. Oh wait…I forgot. OMM, a division of the American Family Association (Inc), is upset at the latest Liquid-Plumr commercial. Here is their little tirade:

Liquid-Plumr presents two sexy plumbers in their new commercial. The Clorox Company introduces the Liquid-Plumr Double Impact Snake and Gel System in this ad which is full of sexual innuendos as well. They are attempting to use sex to sell a product to unclog drains.

The commercial starts off with a woman in a supermarket daydreaming about what this new Liquid-Plumr product has to offer. She says, “Double impact,” twice as she reads the bottle. In her dream she is at home and answers the door to find a sexy plumber. The plumber is nice looking with huge biceps and a tight shirt. He says, “I’m here to snake your drain.” She says come on in and he walks upstairs. The doorbell rings again and it is a second sexy plumber. He says, “I’m here to flush your pipe.” She answers with an okay and while he walks on upstairs she lets out a squeal and moan while letting down her hair. Then she wakes up to reality to find the two men in the supermarket. She flirts by giving sexy eyes to the one man in the deli slicing meat and the other in produce holding two melons. These two men are the same as in her dream. It may be coincidence, but the man in produce is standing beside cucumbers with a price sign behind him reading 69 cents.

The new Liquid-Plumr ad is offensive and completely inappropriate for television.

Of course, they would probably be scandalized by the stuff I’ve been watching lately. (Yeay! The webcast file of the Emilie Autumn concert is available for download, and she’d scandalize those OMM idiots). Of course, in this hypersexualized world, it is hard to imagine that this commercial, which is fairly tame, is something that these dried up old church ladies really want to get upset about. The recent Oscars had more skin on display than a tattoo parolor.

Personally, I find Rick Santorum to be offensive, but I am really wondering when someone is going to take him off the air. I also find Pat Robertson offensive, but he seems to be only willing to leave television when they are carrying him out in a coffin.

Over all, there is a lot of stuff that is far racier, far more offensive on television, even before 10pm, and it seems like this commercial is just the latest attempt by OMM to tilt at windmills.

Still, if you want to undo OMM’s work, here is their letter site.

“Disgusting” or secretly thrilling. Lighten up, lady.

I think the funniest thing about the commercials is they’re using gay double entendre’s. The girl is standing there all hot and bothered but you could pretty much eliminate her from the scene entirely and just use the two guys.

Oh, so I’m not the only I think this commercial is discusting. I’m a woman, pretty main stream and I have never been attracted to any plumber, or equated a snaked clogged with anything sexual pertaining to my body. I have never wanted “double impact” from two different men, and believe me I am not a prude. Even my son was thought the commercial was filthy. Its demeaning and degrading and I do believe over one million women would be discusted by it.

So, uh, if you need to call a real plumber and he says he needs to snake the drain, are you going to run screaming from the house? In my experience, over sexualized parents like to find over sexualized content in everything that’s way out of proportion to innuendo and complain their children are being exposed to over sexualized content that’s turning them over sexualized teens.

How *do* you make it through a day without suspecting something is over sexualized?

The snake thingy can be purchased at the $1.00 store…Or Home Depot, Lowes, etc. for under $5.00. I won’t be purchasing anything Liquid Plumbr brand because of the commercial.

I saw the commercial today. It was racy, and I guess it’s a sign of the times. Last time I checked, sex and clogged drains have little, if anything, in common. I’ve never needed to see a woman’s breasts in order to decide to purchase a product (Of course, I’ve never bought a woman a bikini, so that’s the only exeption that I can contemplate to that rule).
I disagree with your take on this subject, but then, I don’t kow you, and maybe you are ok wih softcore pornography being used to sell all kinds of products.

These one million moms are probably doing their one million preachers and have a guilty conscience, so they have to shift the attention away from themselves.

AS bad as I know this probably sounds, but perhaps what these “Moms” need is for the “Dads” to flush their pipes….I said it and now I feel bad about it.
