As an avid viewer of Cartoon Network I get to see some of the best re-imagined versions of shows about super heroes, which I think is pretty cool (Green Lantern: The Animated Series,  Star Wars: The Clone Wars, Thundercats, Young Justice, Batman: The Brave & The Bold, and Teen Titans). This evening, March 22, 2012, Cartoon Network will be showing yet another Ben 10 movie, which they tend to do every few years. But this evening is special because during Ben 10 they will be showing a one-night only mini-movie of LEGO Batman. Yup, a Batman show done completely in Legos.

If you had told me about this a few years ago I would have thought it was one of the coolest ideas ever, but now….I’ve seen shows where my childhood toys have been turned into television reenactments of geek media (Check out Robot Chicken). So now LEGO has recently decided to start doing shows and webisodes (AKA mini-movies) made with CGI-made LEGO characters. If you aren’t familiar with these, check out their versions of Star Wars & the new Cartoon Network show “Ninjago: Masters of Spinjitzu”.

So for those of you that grew up having to actually build and imagine with the LEGO blocks you were given, know that your children will have the enjoyment of watching on TV and the Net what other people have imagined for them. Personally, I prefer my son to use his imagination and creativity rather than watching someone else’s.
