Cyndi Lauper is something of an LGBT Icon, and certainly one of the more vocal advocates for the LGBT cause. This is, in part, because her sister is openly lesbian. The singer who is most famous for her hits in the 1980′s will have a memoir out this upcoming fall through Atria Books, a division of Simon & Schuster. The memoir will cover Lauper’s life from troubled to childhood to the present. The 58-year-old singer stated “Sometimes I come off good, sometimes not so good.”
Lauper is the founder of the True Colors foundation which helps LGBT Youth.
