HIV/AIDS & Theater In Lesotho: Fulbright Award Continues The Teaching

Katt Lissard. . .I remember meeting her for the first time what seems like a a century ago when it was really only just about three years ago when I first started in the Individualized Masters of Arts program at Goddard College. Katt recently received a second Fulbright award to continue her work in Lesotho, which is located in southern Africa.

Lesotho is a small nation located inside of South Africa. It has the third highest infection rate for HIV/AIDS in the world. In the above video you can see some of her past work at the Winter/Summer Institute which creates theater centered around teaching about HIV/AIDS. Unlike many programs that teach about HIV/AIDS, the Winter/Summer Institute actually works with the local population to design these theater projects.

Katt is passionate about her work. It is wonderful that she has won this award and can continue the brilliant work that she has been doing in educating people about the dangers of HIV/AIDS.  Each year it is a different production, and each year is a new experience for Katt.
