To what level will someone who is bitterly anti-LGBT go in order to prove just how hateful of LGBT people they are? Well, Colorado State Representative Marsha Looper provided that answer by not only abandoning the rights of her own child, but also by, basically, informing the world that her son is gay.

Looper is facing off against State Rep Amy Stephens in a primary due to the fact that their districts were largely merged.

Looper’s campaign manager sent out an email to her supporters that praised Looper for opposing same-sex marriage and civil unions by publically outing Looper’s son. The email states “God is truly to be praised for Marsha Looper because she also has a homosexual son. Praise God!” That her son is openly gay is not a big secret, but it has never been publically stated.

Looper said of the email that “I’m very, very disappointed. These are are very intimate issues. I love my son. I always will. He has said, ‘Mom, I want my privacy.”

Looper’s disregard for her son’s health and future happiness flies in the face of all of the statements Republicans make about family values.
