Sandusky Trial Goes To Jury, Judge Tosses Three Charges

It is now in the hands of the jury.

Yesterday, the defense rested in the case against former Penn State assistant football coach Jerry Sandusky. They did not call the accused, but did call his wife. They called upon a variety of people to aver that Sandusky was a saint and that they, personally, had never been abused or seen the abuse.

The judge threw out three of the original fifty-two charges leaving the jury only forty-eight charges relating to the alleged molestation and rape of ten boys over fifteen years. Sandusky has repeatedly denied the charges and his defense attacked the accusers saying that they had a financial motive for making up stories.

Eight of Sandusky’s accusers testified about a wide variety of abuse, and Penn State football assistant Mike McQueary also testified stating that he had witnessed Sandusky in the shower with a young boy about a decade ago.
