Disney to Release “OZ: The Great and Powerful” in 2013

When I saw the poster image pop up on my screen I was immediately bothered that Disney was going to be redoing The Wizard of Oz, one of my favorite movies. But then I read the title and my partner said that it was probably the story of how the wizard got to OZ, not Dorothy. This (!) sparked my interest.

I’m always fascinated with re-imaginings/the next chapters of well-known stories. I watched when Syfy re-imagined OZ with TinMan (and the oh-so-adorkable Zooey Deschanel) and it was amazing! Last night I watched a movie on tv called The Witches of OZ and THAT was amazing too! So now I’m excited and curious about what Disney is going to do with the prequel to TWWoO (*snickers*).

Being curious by nature, I tried to get some research done on it and was unable to find much of anything about the movie (mostly because I have a very demanding child who is teething and wants attention). IMDB.com had this to say:

Thankfully, there is a big ol’ Internet out there filled with people who have better ways of quenching their curiosity than I do. So if you are curious for more info on the movie before it comes out, either stay tuned or….ya know, do some research.
