On 17 and 18 July, Working Mother Media Multicultural Women’s National Conference will be held, and at it, Working Mother Media will be presenting former Marine Captain and Service Women’s Action Network or SWAN Anu Bhagwati with a major award. They are honoring Bhagwati for “her extraordinary contribution to securing equal opportunity for women in the military and the freedom to serve in uniform without the threat of harassment or discrimination for all service members and their families.”
SWAN notes that “Ms. Bhagwhati, a former Marine Corps Captain, spearheaded legislative reform and litigation to end rape, sexual assault, sexual harassment and domestic violence in the military and to eliminate all barriers to equal opportunity for servicewomen.”
Working Mother Media President Carol Evans stated that “Anu’s organization represents the cultural change that can truly happen with visionary leadership. She has created an organization that has changed the landscape for military women and veterans.”
The conference is on its tenth year and “focuses on facilitating a national conversation about where race and gender meet in the workplace and honors the Working Mother Best Companies for Multicultural Women.”
