FOX News Calls Olympian Gabby Douglas Unpatriotic For Wearing Pink

Apparently there are some people who will not be happy unless all American Olympians have the American flag branded on their foreheads. Last week on America Live, Alisyn Camerota decided to discuss how “some folks” were noticing that the “famous flag-styled outfits” of the past were now replaced by “yellow shirts, grey track suits and pink leotards” in this Olympics.

Camerota and David Webb were especially upset with Gabby Douglas’ outfit. Camerota stated that “You know, Gabby had that great moment, and everyone was so excited, and she’s in hot pink — and that’s her prerogative.” Webb then stated “What’s wrong with showing some pride?” He then called the uniform choice a “kind of soft anti-American feeling that Americans can’t show their exceptionalism.” He went on to point out that other nations like China are wearing nationalistic colors and say “We’re a very nationalistic nation. But we’ve also lost over time that jingoistic feeling.”

Other than being busy singing “You’ve lost that jingoistic feeling”, one has to wonder just what Olympics Camerota and Webb are watching. For instance, Lolo Jones is wearing Red, White and Blue:

So are the Williams sisters:

The US Women’s Soccer team:

What’s next, complaining that the fencers don’t wear patriotic clothing during the match? That Michael Phelps doesn’t have Old Glory tattooed across his backside? It seems that the only ones who aren’t wearing Red, White And Blue are the Gymnasts.

Typical republican b.s. Why was Gabby Douglas called out by name when lots of athletes including her teammates opted for colors other than red white or blue. Republicans are the most anti-American people of all as evidenced by what they say and do daily.

In the fencing outfits, about the only ways I can see the flag theme working basicly turns it into a target mark.

Who would want to “brag” about your country, when it’s press acts like this? Maybe “Americans” can’t afford to be in London w/ the current state of the economy? See that’s what makes America great… “we’re free to do what WE WANT TO DO” even if it’s NOT what YOU may want us to do. Frankly, crying about what an Olympian is wearing is as repugnant as booing a military officer while he’s in the field serving his country. Poor form… Poor form…
