Today we learned that a legend passed away. Neil Armstrong was the first human to set foot on the Moon. On 16 July 1969, Armstrong, Buzz Aldrin, and Michael Collins launched into space aboard the Columbia and the Eagle. Playing on the BBC during their coverage of the launch was, perhaps, the strangest song to actually be chosen to be played for such a launch- Space Oddity. Thus, it was proven that the BBC has a warped sense of humor. In doing this, they also launched David Bowie’s career.
In honor of Armstrong, I thought that we would play Space Oddity.
