Next Time They Want To Secede, Let’Em

How obscene is the right wing propaganda in America? Well, here’s a little sampling of what it has created. Lubbock, Texas, Judge and Emergency Management Director Tom Head was on a local television show discussing why he wants to increase funding for police in the county, and said the following about President Obama and what to expect if he wins re-election:

“He’s going to try to hand over the sovereignty of the United States to the U.N., and what is going to happen when that happens? I’m thinking the worst. Civil unrest, civil disobedience, civil war, maybe. And we’re not just talking a few riots here and demonstrations, we’re talking Lexington, Concord, take up arms and get rid of the guy. Now, what’s going to happen if we do that, if the public decides to do that? He’s going to send in U.N. troops. I don’t want them in Lubbock County. Okay? So, I’m going to stand in front of their armored personnel carrier and say ‘you’re not coming in here.’ And the sheriff, I’ve already asked him. I said, ‘You gonna back me?’ and he said “Yeah, I’ll back you.’ Well, I don’t want a bunch of rookies back there. I want trained, equipped, seasoned veteran officers to back me.”

Sheriff Kelly Rowe told a Lubbock newspaper it’s all news to him.

Head has tried to back down a bit, saying that as the emergency management director, he must always look at the worst scenarios. But, seriously, the worst scenarios for emergency managers are supposed to be floods, earthquakes, wildfires, hurricanes, tornadoes and whatever else Mother Nature can throw at us, not invasion by United Nation troops under the direction of the President of the United States.

His rant reminds me of the rantings of Rev. Ian Paisley in Northern Ireland back in the mid-1979s. Paisley predicted that if Catholics were given equal rights, a Papist army would invade Great Britain and depose the Queen. Idiots believed it. They really believed that the Pope could raise an army to invade the British Isles. Know who is the only “Catholic monarch” still on a throne? Henri, Grand Duke of Luxembourg, that’s who. Luxembourg’s Army has 800 members, and they have no Navy or Air Force. Add them to the 90 Vatican Swiss Guard in their doublets and tights carrying medieval pikes and you have a hilarious scenario of soldiers lines up in Northern France to get on the Chunnel Train.

Well, there are a lot of idiots who believe that our President is in league with The New World Order – a nebulous group who have been plotting to take over the world on behalf of Jewish bankers for, oh, about a thousand years or so. They claim that the Bilderberg Group, a rather loose association of thinkers and doers who meet about once a year, is a front for the NWO. They don’t have an answer when one points out that Indiana’s Republican Governor Mitch Daniels is a member of the Bilderberg Group. The NWO-believers are in addition to the idiots who believe the President is a secret agent for the Muslim Brotherhood who is setting us up to be part of the New Caliphate.

This stuff would be amusing, if there weren’t so many Americans who believe it, just as there are too many people who believe President Obama’s parents engaged in some elaborate, global hoax to fake a Hawaiian birth certificate and newspaper notices. It would be amusing if there hadn’t been a spike in anti-government militias since 2008 and an increase in hate crimes. It would be amusing if the Republican Party weren’t tacitly approving of it to garner votes.
