LGBT Activist C.D. Kirven has launched a petition at Change.org challenging One Million Moms over their hatred of the ABC Family show pilot developed by Jennifer Lopez. The show that Lopez has developed centers around a lesbian couple and their children. The petition notes that:
Support for the LGBT community has increased over the years as seen in recent national polls. A 2011 Gallup poll showed that 53% of Americans support marriage equality, and data continues to reflect the American public wants to ensure that all families in America are treated with respect.
One Million Moms is a project of the antigay American Family Association, classified by the Southern Poverty Law Center as a hate group or spreading damaging misinformation about LGBT people.
