Sometimes celebrities don’t always get told about the important events until right before or after they happen. Thankfully ther Universe got the message to Wendy Pini in time, or she would have missed seeing “ElfQuest: a Fan Imagining” on the big screen for the first time, and at such a historic theatre too!
It seems that in The 2012 HollyShorts Film Festival, ElfQuest fan/actress Paula Rhodes, was in the competition with the film. Pini found out only 3 hours before the premier. Thankfully she lives not far away and made it there in time. Good timing too, since it was the first short film shown.
Elfmom here: I made it in time and, boy, am I glad I did! Downtown Hollywood is a disaster area – and that includes Grauman’s Chinese Theater. It’s all under reconstruction with scaffolding and rubble around…so Ididn’t take any pics. But when the showing of the films started, guess what went up first? It was absolutely AMAZING – like jaw-droppingly so – to see “Elfquest – a Fan Imagining” up on the legitimate big screen. Like a dream come true to see the gorgeous elves doing their thing. Nice applause. I was so proud of Paula Rhodes https://www.facebook.com/paula.rhodes when the host interviewed her afterward. Wouldn’t have missed it for the world! Couldn’t stay for the after-party…had to bust Wolfie out of the kitchen after seven hours. Priorities, y’know. -Wendy Pini’s Facebook page
