Tammy Baldwin Condemns Romney/Ryan Plan To Destroy Medicare

Representative Tammy Baldwin has condemned the attempts to undermine and destroy Medicare in the United States. Analysis is already showing that the decision by Mitt Romney to appoint Paul Ryan to be his running mate has been more of a thud than a bounce, and the Romney Campaign is already stating that they do not want to talk about Medicare because revealing their plan would spell instant doom for their candidacy.

Baldwin stated in a petition that went out that:

You know how we know? Mitt Romney chose Paul Ryan of Wisconsin as his running mate.

Paul Ryan and I were elected to Congress the same year — I know him well. And as the man who authored the Republican budget plan that sought to end Medicare as we know it for future generations of seniors, I know how harmful his policies could be. His selection as Romney’s vice presidential nominee brings that issue to the forefront.

More than 900,000 Wisconsinites rely on Medicare. We need to protect the benefits that our seniors, and those approaching retirement age, have worked for, paid for and earned.`

Baldwin is running for the Senate in Wisconsin. If elected, she would be the first openly lesbian member of the Senate.
