Teen Charged In Brutal Attack on Missouri Lesbian

The day before the attack at the Family Research Council, Mercedes Ayers was charged with an anti-gay hate crime for the physical assault of Jeana Terry. Ayers assaulted Terry on 24 July. On that day, Ayers knocked on the lesbian’s front door, pulled her out by her hair, and proceeded to beat Terry on the porch of her house. Terry did not fight back and other under-aged individuals joined in the attack.

Ayers had been antagonizing Terry and her partner Lisa Lange for a while calling them “dykes” and “yaps”. Terry was badly beaten, but mostly bruises and a black eye. Ayers, who is seventeen, will be charged as an adult.

We are still waiting for the condemnation of this anti-gay hate crime from the National Organization for Marriage, the Family Research Council, the American Family Association, Peter LaBarbera, and the rest of the anti-gay establishment.
