Two people are dead and ten shot outside the Empire State Building in New York City. According to witnesses, the shooter, who is dead, fired randomly into the crowd of people at 34th Street and Fifth Avenue. One witness, Aliyah Imam, told reporters that she was standing at a red light when the woman next to her fell to the ground after being shot in the hip.
The New York Post is reporting that this was a dispute between coworkers. Sid Dinsay, an employee at a PR firm, told them that “This is the last thing you are expecting to see walking to work – someone shot dead in broad daylight in Midtown. I am shocked – something like this is enough to rattle your nerves. My nerves are rattled right now.”
Two people reportedly were arguing before one took out his gun and shot at the other. One of the bullets struck and killed a bystander and other bullets struck people at the busy intersection. Most were struck in the butt and legs. Reddit uster Titain413 reported that “I was on the bus right there when it happened. At least four people got shot. Two on the northwest side of the street, one empire state building ticket guy in the middle of the crosswalk, and someone on the southwest corner. That was terrifying.”
The gunman was shot and killed by responding police.

Bloody hell. They’re actually lucky more weren’t injured or killed, if that area’s usually as busy as I think it is.
