Film May Not Have Caused Attack In Benghazi

Richard Engel of NBC News has reported that the attack on our consulate in Benghazi that resulted in the burning of the consulate and the deaths of our ambassador, Chris Stevens, and three others, may not have been inspired by the anti-Islam film that motivated the protests in Cairo.

The attack was well-armed.  Stevens died when his car was hit by a rocke-propelled grenade.  The intent was to destroy the consulate and take lives.  This was not a spontaneous protest, but a well-planned attack.  The Libyan government has condemned the attack and is working to locate those who perpetrated it.
