Music Review: They Might Be Elders: Truth Retold by Steve Nunez

When you hear the name “Mormon“, there is a stereo-type you think of. For me, I’m reminded of 2 Mormon families that I went to high school with. Very polite, well-mannered, intelligent people with names that all started with the same sound at the beginning. There was Melissa & Matthew from one family, and then there was Craig, Kyle, & Clayton.

When I first met Steve Nunez, I didn’t think “Mormon”. It actually took me a little while to figure out who he is. His stereo-type is actually, kinda awesome. He’s in a band called They Might Be Elders, is a voice actor, and is a regular at conventions alongside his friends Sonny Strait of WeShadows & Wendy Pini of ElfQuest & Masque of the Red Death. He’s known as “The Mormon Weird Al“. How cool is that?

Looks so serious…

You know you’re curious about him, right?

Today at SNAFU Steve Nunez will be kickstarting his latest album, They Might Be Elders: Truth Retold.  He is raising money to finish the album and is taking pre-orders. He will also be doing autographs, and selling merchandise; including the 1st & 2nd albums from TMBE. If you still want to know more about him, check THIS.

Jordan Hack from Hacked Audio does filming and editing for the videos. They Might Be Elders records exclusively at Noisebox Studios™ in Orem, Utah (Thank you to Dave Zimmerman who runs it.). Spencer Legrand Johnson does lighting and rigs for the videos as well as the art for the 3rd album cover.

For now, enjoy some of the videos. To Steve, Best of Luck!
