It might seem like a strange thing to say, but James Bond and Doctor Who share some interesting characteristics. Both characters have, as a matter of course, been played by a variety of different actors over the five decades that they have been in production (next year, Doctor Who has its fiftieth anniversary). The two of them have some of the most famous pieces of music. In fact, the instrumental themes for both Bond and Doctor Who are instantly recognizable.
Not to mention the fact that they are both British cultural icons.
Well, tonight’s song comes from the fifth film “You Only Live Twice”. This one was sung by Nancy Sinatra, the daughter of Frank Sinatra. Nancy Sinatra has continued in music and film over the decades even though she has not had a large amount of success.

For starters, Nancy Sinatra’s “You Only Live Twice” is routinely chosen as on of the best if not the best Bond themes by critics and Bond fans. It is also one of Nancy’s best loved songs among her fans.
That said, I really take issue with your comment that Nancy hasn’t had a “large amount of success,” because that is one of the most absurd things I’ve ever heard. For one thing, she has sold Millions of records. Let’s talk numbers… 21 hits on Billboard’s Hot 100 singles chart, 10 Top 40 AC hits, 2 Bubbling Under singles, 2 hits on Billboard’s Country singles chart and not to mention 10 charting albums. She has recorded some of the most important songs of the Rock Era and they are still recognized today. And one of Nancy’s crowning achievments, her 2004 self-titled album, was a critical smash. It made many critics best-of lists, as well as being chosen as one of Billboard Magazine’s 10 best albums of the year.
Nancy’s legacy is one that any artist would be proud to achieve and in this day and age, it’s not likely many ever will.

Not a large amount of success? You are mistaken (not to mention dismissive of achievement. Do a little research and become fully informed before you comment on a person’s history.Visit nancysinatra.com and check out Ms. Sinatra’s Bio.

Actually, I read her biography, and while I could have worded that better, Ms Sinatra has not had the same level of success as many others have.
