Nomination for a Darwin Award

A little after midnight Friday, a 27 year old man from Peacham, Vermont, apparently thought it was a good idea to sit outside the St. Johnsbury Police station, revving the engine of his white Chevy Camaro. This obviously got their attention, and when he took off there was a cruiser following him.

When he saw the cruiser’s emergency light, he took off south on U.S. Rt. 5. After hitting 120+ mph, he lost control near the Vermont State Police barracks. His car spun several times, bouncing off the guardrails on the oncoming lane before finally stopping.

He was taken into custody and charged with driving while intoxicated, careless and negligent operation of a motor vehicle and attempting to elude authorities.

Steven Kimball, this Darwin’s for you.
