President Barack Obama pushed his case to the American people, and it is not surprising to hear that the Romney Campaign has already been dismissive about it. Obama spoke passionately about the fact that the last four years have not been easy, but like Joe Biden, made it clear that the United States is not failing, but pushed the nation to greater heights.
Matt Rhoades, campaign manager for Mitt Romney, went on the attack stating “Tonight President Obama laid out the choice in this election, making the case for more of the same policies that haven’t worked for the past four years. He offered more promises, but he hasn’t kept the promises he made four years ago. . .Americans will hold President Obama accountable for his record — they know they’re not better off and that it’s time to change direction. Mitt Romney and Paul Ryan will restore America’s promise and deliver a better future for our country.”
Rhoades apparently did not watch the critically acclaimed Clinton speech last night when he slaughtered the idea that the policies of the last four years have not worked. He also apparently missed the fact that this week will be remembered for a large number of solid speeches while the GOP’s convention couldn’t manage beyond Clint Eastwood’s speaking to a chair.
The last two speeches of the night hit Romney/Ryan hard without hitting the point of actually, well, plying the nation with a ton of lies.
