Above is the first of six segments, which LGR will be running over the next five days, from the Butch Trans Women Panel from Butch Voices 2011. I heard about these videos from a reader who let me know about them. It is not surprising that there are butch trans women out there just as there are femme trans women.

Despite the stereotype of the effeminate trans woman mincing about in high heels and pearls just to clean her home, the majority of trans women dress fairly normally. I, myself, dress in t-shirts and skirts most days. Undoubtably, many of these women are constantly bombarded by those who find their butch identities to be wrong, or who constantly ask them why they would want to transition to being a woman if they were going to be butch.

I have my thoughts, but since I am not butch, I will let you listen to their words on the subject.
