When drag queen Sahara Davenport passed away, my heart broke. I could only imagine what her partner, Manila Luzon, was going through right at that moment. While I have never met Miss Luzon, I wanted to run up to her place and give her a huge hug along with some chocolates from Vermont and a nice bottle of red wine. It was as if a personal friend had lost their love. I wanted to be there for her.
It has now been 3 weeks since Miss Davenport’s passing. The world is a little quieter for it. Miss Luzon is changed forever. You can tell in recent press that she is still grieving, but matured for the life she shared with Davenport.
