This just in off The Weather Channel: they have confirmed that flood waters from Superstorm Sandy have entered the Brooklyn-Battery Tunnel, shortly before high tide. Water in the Battery section of lower Manhattan is currently 13.5′, two feet higher than the previous record. With 50-80 mph winds pushing the storm surge inland, and meeting the rain-swollen Hudson and East Rivers, Manhattan is flooding.
Stay tuned… stay safe.
