Today is Halloween, my favorite night of the year.

Unfortunately because of Storm Sandy and the weekend, Halloween has been kinda F***ED UP this year, so we had the annual Rutland Halloween parade on Saturday, but I think trick or treating tonight. Throw in school parties and you have kids living in their costumes for almost a week. Fun for them, smelly for everyone else.

About a month ago I had awesome plans for this year. My mate and I had a babysitter for the night and were going to a friend’s 10th annual Halloween party, where we would stay the night and come home the next day. Unfortunately just as we had our plans set, my mate’s schedule got changed at work and suddenly he had to work on the night of the party. So we had to cancel that plan.

Eventually we gave up on being adults on Halloween and chose to be parents. My mate is going to pick up a cheap spooky, kid-ok movie for us to watch with our son, maybe “It’s the Great Pumpkin, Charlie Brown“, we will both dress up with our son in costumes and play inside (he’s still too young for trick or treating). Don’t worry, we will take pictures.
