And yet more tabloid fodder leads to a lawsuit out of the Travolta camp. Doug Gotterba, a former pilot who worked for Travolta from 1981 to 1987, spoke to the National Enquirer about a “steamy affair” that the man claims to have had with the actor. Travolta’s camp is saying that the affair never happened.
According to TMZ, Gotterba is suing the Travolta camp claiming that he had every right to talk to the tabloids as he did not sign a confidentiality agreement. TMZ reported that “Gotterba does not go into detail about his personal relationship with Travolta in the lawsuit … but says after the media tidal wave that ensued, he received a threatening letter from Travolta’s attorney Marty Singer.”
Gotterba claims that Singer threatened to sue him for violating the confidentiality agreement. Gotterba claims that he did sign a termination agreement, but it did not include any confidentiality clause. Singer claims that the lawsuit is frivolous and that Gotterba did sign a confidentiality agreement. Singer also stated that “Mr. Gotterba obviously filed this lawsuit to get his 15 minutes of fame. We plan to get this meritless case promptly dismissed.”
All of this amounts to people wondering why all the interest in Travolta’s love life. Of course, the fact that the man has not had any real success of late, it seems rather likely that this is the only way that Travolta gets any headlines too.
