Sir Ian McKellen has been a gay rights activist for many years now. The actor best known for his roles as Gandalf the Grey and Magneto has a long and storied career including roles such as Iago in Shakespeare’s Othelo and Richard III in Richard III. McKellen stopped by to talk to admitted Tolkien geek Stephen Colbert…however, I should note that I can no longer take seriously the phrase “it shall glow blue in the presence of orcs and goblins.” All I can hear is “they glow blue in the presence of lawyers.”
