(My apologies for not putting this properly behind spoilers, etc.  I am very sick and just trying to keep up with what needs to be done for the site)

For fans of Iron Chef, or cooking competitions overall, the news out of tonight’s The Next Iron Chef was a bit sad as Chef Elizabeth Falkner was eliminated. The show started with only four women, and now there are only two- Chefs Amanda Freitag and Alex Guarnaschelli. Currently, there are no active women in the Iron Chef show. Falkner is openly lesbian, and was the only openly lesbian to appear in the show.

Cat Cora, who is still officially an Iron Chef, has not appeared in the recent season, but that may be due to other commitments, including the fact that she currently has two very young children.

This was the second time that Falkner has fought against the title Iron Chef, and hopefully she will be able to try again in the future.

      I hope I’ve managed to fix it. I’m really sick right now, so I’m not always remembering to do things like put up spoiler alerts and such.

    FYI, I believe her name is Falkner.

    Faulkner is openly lesbian, and was the only openly lesbian to appear in the show.

    Which show? I’m pretty sure Anne Burrell, of last year’s NIC, is out, and both she and Cat Cora have appeared on ICA.
