Play with fire, and eventually you will get singed. Play with Tea (Party), and you’ll eventually get scalded. This appears to be what is happening to Arizona Senator John McCain who is facing a torrent of criticism over his flopping around on support for and opposition to a legal path to citizenship for undocumented immigrants.

Keith Smith demanded of Senator McCain
“You said ‘build the dang fence’ – where’s the fence?” Smith was referring to the attempt by the Republican Party to build a costly and deficit increasing fence across the boarder with Mexico.

Smith told NBC that “He doesn’t want the American people to stand up and ask him the tough questions and hold his feet to the fire.” McCain has become known for throwing tantrums whenever confronted with facts he dislikes. He told the crowd that Americans would not support a move to arrest all illegal immigrants, but apparently forgot to explain that this has to do with the fact that it would collapse the farm economy in the nation.

McCain also tried to say that he would not support any effort to give undocumented aliens a path to citizenship because “we’re a Judeo-Christian principled nation.” This elicited a rather negative response from the crowd.
