Actress Karen Gillian of Doctor Who may have hit on one of the reasons why some people love assault weapons. There’s a certain rush to firing one off even if all that is being used are blanks. However, actor Sylvester Stallone has a very solid reason to support a ban on assault weapons.
The actor, who’s new movie is ‘A Bullet To The Head’, stated “I know people get (upset) and go, ‘They’re going to take away the assault weapon.’ Who … needs an assault weapon? Like really, unless you’re carrying out an assault. … You can’t hunt with it. … Who’s going to attack your house, a (expletive) army?”
Stallone, who is famous for his portrayal of John Rambo in the Rambo franchise, did put some emphasis on the mental health system saying “I think the biggest problem, seriously, is not so much guns. It’s that every one of these people that have done these things in the past 30 years are friggin’ crazy. Really crazy! And that’s where we’ve dropped the ball: mental health. That to me is our biggest problem in the future, is insanity coupled with isolation.”
Gillian got the opportunity to fire an assault weapon in the Doctor Who episode “The Wedding of River Song”.
