It was a simple declaration that caused panic all across the Bieber-verse. Justin Bieber has “chosen” to be gay. Alright, that actually was not declared by Bieber, but rather some hackers who broke into E! Online’s twitter feed, according to the entertainment news organization. Their 5.2 million followers got a message stating that Beiber had come out of the closet and a few other things.

The Syrian Electronic Army hacker group has claimed responsibility. In a statement E! Said “Eonline’s Breaking News twitter and SMS accounts were compromised today. We’re working to have this resolved as quickly as possible and are fully investigating the incident. We apologize for any confusion that the erroneous news alerts may have caused”.

Two week ago, CBS News’ 48 Hours and 60 Minutes accounts were also hacked, and the AP’s the day after those two. Those hacking attacks included a message that a bomb had gone off at the White House resulting in injury to President Barack Obama. This “news” sent stocks spiraling.

Justin Bieber has been dogged by rumors of his being gay, but has, in the past, declared homosexuality to be a choice, and that rape happens for a reason. His latest tour has been dogged by major problems. In England, he punched a paparazzo. He had his monkey confiscated in Germany. In Sweden, his tour bus was raided and drugs were found on it.

Bieber’s popularity has begun to slide in recent years as he has had a rash of negative press including drug use, and a massive tantrum at his last birthday party. Additionally, Bieber is being sued, along with Usher, by performer De Ricco over the song “Somebody To Love”. De Ricco (real name Devin Copeland) has filed a $10 million suit claiming copyright infringement.
