The Fosters Delves Into Real Life, Makes One Million Moms Sad

The_Fosters_logoOh noes! The Fosters is covering stuff like it’s about real life! One Million Moms is really not happy about The Fosters and how it is depicting the life of teens and adults in a manner that isn’t all fairy wings, pixie dust and rainbows. They are calling for their members to write angry letters to the people who are advertising on the show to try and get the advertisers to pull their ads.

Never mind the fact that, to this day, they haven’t been able to make that work. They still say in their emails:

Please send an email letter to the sponsors of this week’s program “The Fosters.” This week’s national sponsors were: Revlon, L’Oreal, Maybelline, McDonald’s, Burger King and Greenlight Loans.

Urge advertisers to place the program on their “do not advertise” list in protest of the attempt to desensitize America and our children by promoting inappropriate behavior on a family channel.

So, what is this dreadful “anti-family” program doing to upset the poor delicate sensibilities of these proud, asterix loving women with the sensibilities of a Victorian prude?

Here’s the list of horrible things The Fosters has been doing:

Moms provide children with condoms by keeping a full stock in the children’s bathroom, which leads to teen s*x scene
When one son has unprotected s*x, one of his moms gives the girl the morning after p*ll without her parent’s consent because her parents are Christian and would not have approved
One son is invited to church camp, but one mom won’t allow him to go because the church doesn’t approve of their family
Christian bashing by one mom and a girlfriend’s parents give incorrect information about the Christian faith
One parent speaks negatively about religion while others give a distorted representation of Christianity
Illeg*l immigrants
A boyfriend’s foreclosure p*rty where all the kids from school are invited to consume alcoh*l as they trash and vandalize his home right before the bank takes possession of it
L*sbian mothers discuss their s*x life and later are shown getting intimate in the backseat of a car
The youngest foster son, probably an eleven-year-old, is made fun of at school for painting his fingernails and one of the moms says it is ok to be different like she is
Foster daughter shares how she was raped by a foster brother at a previous home

Hm…I wonder why illegal immigrants are a taboo subject. I mean, honestly, do they not exist?

The thing is, One Million Moms wants propaganda rather than real life. They want Christianity portrayed in nothing but a positive light despite the fact that they, themselves, are the major reason why the faith is in such a horrible state as it is. People have turned their backs on Christianity in part because of the vicious and mean way in which groups like this have abused the faith.

Add in the fact that, sex is a part of life, and do you know what has been shown to not only reduce the number of teen pregnancies, but reduce the instances of abortions across the nation? Proper use of contraceptives and sex education. Teens and adults have sex, and by denying this fact, the Religious Right have actually done more to fuel abortions and teen pregnancy rates in this country than anything else.

It’s also nice to know that One Million Moms is pro-bullying. I knew a guy back in High School who painted his fingernails a nice scarlet. He happened to be one of the most heterosexual guys I knew back then too.

To date, One Million Moms has been unable to actually get so much as a single show taken off the air, and not a single advertiser has been willing to remove their ads from a show under threat from One Million Moms. They just love going after shows when they think they can get them to shut down in the hopes that, when they are shut down, they can make a buck, but if they don’t shut them down, well, they ignore them and act like they never ran a campaign against them.

You know you’re doing something right when One Million Moms (aka 58k Moms) complains.

I like the Fosters because they adress some very real and very serious issues many kids face.

I don’t really see what people have against The Foster. It’s a good show and every fault people have with the show is what makes it really good and it doesn’t dictate anything. The creators and writers are showing what it’s like for people in a same sex partnership that have a family. Christianity isn’t the same for everyone, people portray it in what they believe. These One million mums need to start and look at life and see how its changing all the time.
