Bobby SteggertBobby Steggert has come out of the closet. The Broadway Actor is set to star in “Big Fish”, which opens on 5 October. Steggert made the statement in an interview with OUT magazine.

During the interview, he was asked about his role as a gay father in Mothers and Sons. To which he said “I think it’s a gay actor’s responsibility to give full-blooded life to gay characters.”

The thirty-two year old actor is mostly known for starring in coming-of-age stories. According to reporters “ He played a conflicted gay soldier in the Off-Broadway World War II musical Yank! and earned a Tony nom for his performance in the 2009 revival of McNally’s Ragtime.:

Big Fish is making its way to Broadway from Chicago. The original place is apparently once of the most anticipated musicals to appear in this season.

Steggert joins a long list of actors who have come out of the closet in quiet little ways instead of making huge announcements about it.
