Michele Bachmann may be gearing up for a second run for the Presidency in 2016, and she’s doing this by lashing out at Democratic prospect Hilary Rodham Clinton. Bachman was asked in an interview with right-wing radio host Jan Markell whether or not the retiring House member expected Clinton to just be ‘coronated’ as President.

The language is not surprising as members of the Right Wing have long tried to smear any Democrat as ruling as if they were monarchs or dictators rather than Presidents.

Bachmann says in the interview that “I don’t at all because I look at the story of David and Goliath. All David needed was one smooth stone to fell the giant. It wasn’t the stone, it wasn’t David, it was the strong right arm of a Holy God.”

Bachmann then said as if the story had relevance to the 2016 Presidential race that it was up to her and her followers to communicate to God their desire not to see Clinton elected president. Bachman stated that “If we repent, if we cry out to God, we have no idea what the Lord God will do for us in 2016.”

Given that God does not have a vote in the United States, let alone a majority of the votes, it seems unlikely that His support would actually tip the scales to victory in 2016. Bachmann asked for her supporters to call upon God to get her elected in 2012, and that did not work in the end.

Bachmann is well known for her crazy theories and the fact that her husband is, or was, a practitioner of ex-gay therapy.

Bachmann has not officially declared that she is running for President in 2016, though she did announce her retirement from the House at the end of her current term.
