Pastor Kevin Swanson has decided to chime in on the closing of Sweet Cakes by Melissa. The Oregon bakery shuttered its doors after it was hit with a discrimination complaint coupled by the discovery that they do not bake their own cakes.
Swanson, who hates LGBT people to begin with, believes that all Christians who attend a same-sex wedding should hold up a sign telling the couple that they are an abomination and “should be put to death.”
Swanson said on his radio program that “This is what homosexuals do best. They will engage in their Pink Mafia, their effort to control and shut down business that do not cooperate with their agenda…I think you can attend a [gay] wedding if you hold up a sign that reads Leviticus 20:13 … I guess it comes down to if you bake a cake for a homosexual wedding you could put Leviticus 20:13 on the cake.”
Swanson is echoing the wordage used by the owners of Sweet Cakes by Melissa who said that LGBT rights advocates had used “militant, mafia-style tactics” to force their bakery to shut down.
The issue is not in their favor, though, as they love to claim that this is an issue of freedom of religion while most Americans believe that, if you own a business, you shut up and serve your customers and keep your worship at home.
In the past, Swanson has claimed that the opening up of the Boy Scouts to openly gay youth would lead to scouts getting merit badges for cannibalism and sodomy. He also claimed that legalizing same-sex marriage would lead to gays burning Christians at the stake, and that gays caused Hurricane Sandy. He also claimed that Star Trek Into Darkness promotes bestiality and said about the decision to nix the deal between Chic-fil-A and the Muppets that “Muppets” deal with Chic-Fil-A: “Kermit is not that interested in Miss Piggy — maybe he’s interested in another frog…I think Miss Piggy on a bun — that’s a better bet, the winner!”
