Since then, One Iowa and the Gay and Lesbian Alliance Against Defamation (GLAAD) have urged Clear Channel to correct the ‘misinformation.’ Clear Channel, which has had its own problems with the LGBT Community in the past, sent out remarks regarding what Mickelson stated. They stated that Mickelson “confused strong opinion with medical fact, and contained factual errors regarding HIV/AIDS, it’s spread and current efforts to inform the public about this disease.” Apparently, people are going to go on assuming that Mickelson was just being dense and did not understand the current research on HIV/AIDS.

Carolyn Jenison, the Executive Director of One Iowa, stated “Jan Mickelson’s comments on HIV/AIDS are reprehensible. Stigma and discrimination surrounding the discussion of this epidemic are barriers to prevention and treatment of HIV/AIDS. Clear Channel did the appropriate thing in responding to and correcting this misinformation.”

Cindi Creager, GLAAD Director of National News stated “We thank Clear Channel for addressing this issue in an on air clarification, to ensure that WHO-AM’s millions of listeners will have the facts about HIV/AIDS, and dismiss the highly offensive, anti-gay and misinformed statements made my Jan Mickelson last week. We’ll continue to pay close attention to future broadcasts, and Mickelson’s defamation will not go unchallenged.”

In truth, the comments are far from out of character and far from ‘factual errors’ given that Mickelson has a long history of anti-LGBT commentary. The day before he made those remarks, he had a heated argument on air with openly gay GOP presidential prospect Fred Karger.

Dr. Laura is quitting her radio show! YAY! The hate filled right winger announced on Larry King that she is quitting her show to protect her first amendment rights. Does that make sense? No, but neither does Dr. Laura.

Dr. Laura was called out for using the N word on her show last week. In an effort to help Dr. Laura understand what she did wrong, King points out that it’s ok when a group goes after each other but it’s not ok when someone outside the group does it. Dr. Laura defended her actions by saying she was trying to help her guest by saying the n word to illustrate a point about hypersensitivity. She said she realized she wasn’t helping, apologized to the guest later that night and that she had policed herself without media help.

She went on to say that her contract with the network is up at the end of the year and she has made the decision not to do radio anymore. “The reason is I want to regain my first amendent right…without some special interest group…attacking.” She feels “stronger and freer to say the things that need to be said,” now that she is ending her program. She also says that times have changed, and ‘now if people don’t like what you say they threaten sponsors. These are angry hateful groups that don’t want to debate but to eliminate.” Or one can look at it as, hateful speech is no longer recepted well in this country because we want to encourage acceptance, tolerance and diversity. But hey, what do I know?   

Don’t worry, Dr. Laura will still be around, speaking, writing books and blogging. “This is the era of the internet!” She crowed triumphantly to a confused Larry King, “My career isn’t over!”

Unfortunately.

The forty-eight year old told her listeners “I’m a gay woman. I’ve got the gay on me. Of course, Quinn cited some rather disturbing and debunked theories that pedophilia is more common among gay men than among straight men in order to prove his point. The debate between Quinn and Tennent went on for nearly three minutes. It is the third time in three years that Quinn, who is a Clear Channel host, has defamed LGBT people. This ‘debate’ happened on 28 July.

Here is the worst section of the “debate”:

QUINN: By the way, speaking of the boy scouts and the gay community, there was recently a decision, much unheralded in the media, on behalf of the boy scouts. The court, I believe, in Philadelphia, ruled in favor of the boy scouts. They wanted to stay in this building in Philadelphia that they were renting. See the back story.. the back channel story to that is, and most people have forgotten, that the boy scouts built this building for the people of Philadelphia.

ROSE: Unbelievable.

QUINN: And then out of sheer altruism gave it to them, and then rented it, and now because of their position on gay scout masters, who by the way they’re defending themselves about a couple of gay scout masters who have engaged in pedophilia. They’re defending themselves in a couple of court cases right now. It’s perfectly logical. You don’t send gay men and young boys out together, okay?

ROSE: Not all gay.. I mean most gay men have nothing to do with the young boys..

QUINN: Of course, but..

ROSE: Make sure that you understand that.

QUINN: But I would give you that pedophilia is far more rampant among the gay community than it is among the straight community. Now you can argue that if you want to, but the bottom line here is, this is not about discrimination, it’s about chemistry. It’s about sexual chemistry. You just don’t put… You don’t send a 21-year-old male out with a bunch of girl scouts who are 13 and 14 years old.

ROSE: I don’t care what it is, to be honest with you. They have a right to decide who they want to lead their troops and who they do not. They probably… If they want to say they want no women leading Boy Scout troops, so be it. They have that right. I wouldn’t want to say that all gays, you risk any gay leader, you risk a pedophile moment, because that’s not true. I have many gay friends who would never even consider that. So the bottom line is that they can decide whatever they want. Whatever they wanna do, they have the right to decide, I feel. You don’t want a female leader, you don’t want a gay leader, whatever It’s your organization.

While Tennent is correct, up to a point, Quinn is wrong because the evidence show that the majority of true pedophiles are actually oriented towards children without regards to their sex, and that the majority of pedophiles identify as straight.

Quinn has constantly pushed his anti-LGBT beliefs that are, of course, based in next to no real information. In 2008, he stated “Gay marriage doesn’t produce anything that the state has an interest in. Gay sex produces AIDS, which the state doesn’t have – or should have an interest in. They should charge homosexuals more for their – for their health insurance than they charge the rest of us.’”

In January of this year he stated “When you get AIDS, pal, the door opens up to you. You have got all kinds of government goodies, including a maid to clean your house, transportation – I mean it’s – there’s just a wealth of wonders that come.” Of course, it is actually very difficult for someone with HIV/AIDS to even get placed on SSID.

GLAAD has issued a statement calling on Clear Channel to live up to its past statements in support of the LGBT Community, but their response was, in part:

“Clear Channel presents opinion programming that covers a wide range of perspectives, and which we believe ultimately achieves balance through the clash and tumult in the public forum of at-times conflicting ideas – and not by our exercise of editorial control over those opinions. Indeed, on the broadcast in question of The War Room with Quinn and Rose, Jim Quinn’s on-air partner Rose Tennent challenged his opinions regarding homosexuality. Recognizing that some members of our audience will inevitably disagree with him and at times may find his opinions flatly offensive, we believe that Jim Quinn’s commentaries and debates take place within the wide boundaries of that public forum. Differing views were presented in the broadcast itself and no apology for this discussion is warranted.”

Of course, Clear Channel might want to consider what is going on with Target and Best Buy right now before they continue to give Quinn a platform to spew anti-LGBT nonsense.

St. John Fernando & Greg at SF Pride 2010

Fans ecstatic as Radio Personalities attend SF Pride;

Little did famed radio personalities, St. John, and team Greg and Fernando know that  being outlawed from the 2010 Pride festivities, by complicit Clear Channel and Pride San Francisco (2010) would in fact turn out a ‘blessing in disguise.”

St John has been  a San Francisco Pride feature  celebrity  DJ each Pride for the past fourteen years,  Greg and Fernando have been bashing on doors trying to get a spot, year after year and to no  avail.   It seemed their unwelcome fate was sealed when they quit the airwaves of Pride sponsor  Clear Channel.

Joining CBS, the two sets of scorching talent  brought their magnetic pull to CBS, their new home, willing to shake fist in the face of  what may well have been the homophobic culture generated by Clear Channel home to the likes of mega –right wing stars Limbaugh and Beck.

St John, as host and creator of San Francisco’s longest running global dance radio show HouseNation  and  on air personality  for CBS Radio’s MOViN99.7… nominated at WMC for mix show of the year, has performed at SF Pride for the past fourteen years.  From the airwaves to the dance floors of the hottest clubs and undergrounds, St. John’s energetic style has made him a staple internationally from Brazil to Canada, and nation-wide from New York’s Limelight to San Francisco’s Ruby Skye. With multiple CD releases on major labels such as Thrive and UBL Recordings, St. John has sold over a quarter-million albums and in 2010 , contributed to HIV/AIDS funding and cast Pride on a community of teens confused by coming out.

In complimentary contrast, and with standing fan base as profound, is beloved duo, team “ Greg and Fernando” who shake the morning commuters with humor and rancor, so unique in its gay-straight blend that their own ‘bridge’ belies that of the reach of the very Golden Gate most commuters cross each of those blaring CBS mornings. Be assured that despite the hefty $6.00 toll (or is it $7 yet?) these fans are adding laughter and fun to the beauty of that extraordinary Bay Area commute.

In the week leading to 2010 San Francisco Pride, Lez Get Real published an article, exposing, exclusively, the impending ban excluding the iconic hosts from performing at the SF Gay Pride Festival.

Despite the article’s virility and the hullabaloo it caused, Pride did not change its stance and nor did it answer our specific e-mail questions calling for an explanation.

After the Pride Festivities, we spoke to St. John as well as Fernando, on behalf of illustrious duo Greg and Fernando.  Clearly the sentiment was unified – annual San Francisco LGBT festival and parade crossed the implicit boundary from Pride to corporate control, delivered through exclusionary terms and conditions in sponsorship contracts, that not only excluded these superb talents but the very saints of “gay is okay!”, and hence served to tacitly disparage them in the eyes of fans and populace alike.

When Lezgetreal.com broke the story in its exclusive article, St. John’s fans were shocked.  The internet and St. John’s Facebook site, spiraled into the world of viral and the comments came pouring in, via email, bloggers, and the usual fan channels.

Feeling the pulse and camaraderie, nothing could keep the famed verbally flamboyant duo, Greg and Fernando, nor the LGR featured and talented magic-mix-machine St. John, away from Pride San Francisco and so of course they showed up; after all they are family.  They  were about to find out, however, that they were there not for themselves but for Pride after all, because the FANS did not let them forget that! They were there- for the fans, who recognized and all but swarmed both sets of talent.

Sparked by the previous article, they were incensed and happy to see the guys!

St. John told us that together with Greg and Fernando, and keen CBS interns, the band of  buddies attended San Francisco Pride, as any ordinary members of the population would have the right to do. “We made our rainbow signs and went to Pride,” quipped St. John.

“Truthfully,” says St. John, “I had the best time in memory of any of the San Francisco Pride events that I have attended, always as performer.  In all my fourteen years attending I have been on a stage performing, but this time I was amongst my fans and able to connect on a personal basis.  It was an extraordinary experience. “

St. John told me that he spoke to a young fan coming out at this Pride for the first time. The youngster was so grateful for the help when St. spent time talking to the young person.  “If that was all I accomplished with just that one person, this year at Pride” said St. John, “it was humbling and made the ban worthwhile.”

But that was clearly not all that they accomplished.  “I really felt like I was there for the people this time.  It was a very personal Pride experience for me.  Fan after fan came up to me and ironically while I was having a great time, they were reminding me and commiserating about the ban on my performing at Pride; many were sad and angry with San Francisco Pride Organizers and Clear Channel.”  According to St. John.

When I spoke to Fernando, he echoed the same sentiment, both he and Greg had a fantastic time; invited to the mike as they passed almost every performer and stage.  It seems it will be hard to keep them off future gigs  especially as their fame is growing exponentially.

St John said that the Lezgetreal Article had generated huge publicity for him and CBS and that awareness and recognition had increased “a hundred times. The number of people who came up to me at Pride was incredible and I had no idea how much buzz the article had generated.”  But it is much more than that – all tree hosts are much beloved and have given so much to the gay community that their presence would undoubtedly have NOT gone unn

St. John Spinning Despite BAN

Then came the unexpected, a coup of sorts, as they passed the Clear Channel Group, who had been pivotal in the Ban, the buddies sensed a  tasteless discomfort as their fellow DJ’s who, while perfectly entitled to replace the ex- clear channel and now CBS icons, must surely have been uneasy about the out and out ban.

Passing the Toyota Stage, fans rallied around and the next thing St. knew he was behind the controls and spinning the reputable mix to the delight of fans and all around.  Unplanned, and impromptu he found himself, not only caught in a united throng of festivities but showcasing his formidable talent nonetheless. No he had the best of both worlds.

While, St. John, has been the mix spin of Pride gig for fourteen years, the refusal to comment by Pride organizers, has prompted an omission begging for its own spin, any spin;   “Hey SF Pride- pray tell – who is pushing the buttons – what is going on here?” This is the resounding common denominator- a roar from comments generated by my earlier Article. “Has Pride been bought to the extent that the People of San Francisco are compelled to celebrate without their heroes? Is Pride the San Francisco Pride or is it now the Corporate Who has More Money Pride.

I do not know about you fellow queers, but as for me I have marched and paraded and celebrated in the name of San Francisco pride for many years and when I see those who model excellence for our community I feel good about myself and proud that my maker made me the perfect lesbian.

San Francisco: Breaking – For the past 15 years openly gay, renowned DJ, radio host, and creator of San Francisco’s longest running global dance radio show “House Nation, who goes by the name St John, has been a feature, honing his iconic talent and superstar ACT at the annual San Francisco LGBT Pride.

But this year something smells a little off.  Sources inform us, that the event which would usually pride itself on tradition has succumbed to the demands of one of its  corporate sponsors, CLEAR CHANNEL.   Clear Chanel (yes the very clear channel, air-wave home to Rush Limbaugh and Glenn Beck,) and a major SF Pride 2010 sponsor has demanded the banning of ST. John and two other well known GAY Morning DJ’s; all three axed, shunned and rejected despite their years of entrenched relationship with the event.

St. John, described as  Superstar in the growing world of  mix was extremely popular at Clear Channel’s Wild 94.9 for 14 years, and then moved to CBS’s. Movin’ 99.7, KMVQ-FM.

St. John’s energetic style has made him a staple internationally from Brazil to Canada, and nation-wide from New York’s Limelight to San Francisco’s Ruby Skye. With multiple CD releases on major labels such as Thrive and UBL Recordings, St. John has sold over a quarter-million albums and in 2010 continues to work on exciting new projects.

The exclusion may be attributed to corporate wrangling and competitive venom between CBS and Clear Channel. Yet on wonders just how San Francisco pride fits into this mix of loyalty gone awry?

Since it was not only St John who made the move, but also other DJ’s and Michael Martin, once Program Director for Clear Channel and now Vice President of Programming for CBS RADIO San Francisco. The retribution could also be attributed to Martin who did not hide his excitement when St John left  Clear Channel to join CBS: “I am beyond excited to have him join MOViN!  His skill, passion, precision and drive to win are an inspiration to all who work with him and the detriment to those who try to compete against him,” said Martin.

Should we as a marginalized and discriminated against community stand behind our heroes? Or should we accept demanding sponsors who are giving SF Pride the profits off the  millions made and paid to the likes of homophobic and anti American  Limbaugh and Beck.

For St. John the feelings were mutual when he joined CBS; – “I’m thrilled to be reunited with programming legend Michael Martin. Together we’ve dominated ratings in both the Bay Area and Los Angeles and when St John moved asserted: “I can’t wait to work with him to do it again at my new home CBS RADIO San Francisco.”

Each year, Pride works with the event media partners, such as Clear Channel home to the likes of right wing lunatics – Limbaugh and Beck, to bring a televised and  radio broadcasts of the SF Pride Parade. SF Pride producers assert that they have been able to expand the coverage of the Parade to include a full-length, unedited online broadcast in addition to televised coverage the evening following the Parade’s conclusion.

Since St. John left clear channel, it is became apparent that punitive motives would follow the star, and that attempts would  be made to relegate his well earned reverence in the world of cool music and especially his vested platform at PRIDE.

St. John, clearly hurt by San Francisco Pride’s rejection of his talent, and his years of service was loathe to make any derogatory remarks at all either toward SF Pride or Clear Channel.

From my interview it was clear that not only is St John a good man, he is modest and is not willing to speak of  the enormous contributions he has made to fighting HIV/AIDS and helping those in need.

In furthering his career he is now being punished by his own community.  Not only is he a talent but he is an open voice to tens and thousands of a younger generation who hold him in the highest esteem, reaching across the gay- straight lines amongst the youngsters, where it really counts.

When asked for his comments  he told me: “Its been a long  journey with San Francisco Pride; I am proud  to have  been  apart of a great service to the community and hope that maybe I can find a way to continue to be so.”

I will say one thing and that is if Clear Channel tried to impose a ban on any gay performer of any kind with a history and credentials such as ST, John, I for one would rather risk their sponsorship!

Karel – well known out gay radio personality/host and pro equality proponent blasted the fact that Larry King gets to marry so often and to divorce so often. Karel went on to say that Gay people have  no marital rights under the federal law in the USA.  He makes the point that protecting the sanctity of marriage (for straights people,) an unsubstantiated argument against gay marriage, is impacted by people being allowed to divorce especially as often as the likes of Larry King.

While Karel’s thesis is to restrict divorce, mine is to ban divorce.  His idea is based on the fact that people get to divorce too many times and that surely impacts the so called sanctity of marriage.  However my argument speaks to the fact that same-sex marriage is outlawed under federal law based purely on the mindset and argument that same-sex couples will disturb the sanctity of marriage.

What could be worse to the sanctity of marriage than the couple, who exercised their  legal right to marry, signed the legal contract and even made a religious vow to stay together until ‘death do us part,’ terminating the marriage?   What could be more rift causing, family breaking, troublesome than that?

I guess what to those proponents it is worse if same gender couples marry and stay together until “death do them part!”

So gays and lesbians are denied their inherent right, to marry; and specifically discriminated against by virtue of DOMA (Defense of Marriage Act) for an absolutely fallacious reason – while the real cause of harm to marriage is a day to day occurrence for many different people and for some a regular occurrence every few years or so.   True Larry King is indeed an old bloke – 80 plus… I do not know so that gives him a marriage every ten years since the day he was born! Tomorrow, Wednesday April, 14, 2010, I will be participating in a blog radio fund raiser to help of Millicent Gaika, the South African woman who after being brutally raped, is destitute. In a state of shock and trauma, she is unable to pursue her medical needs and the organization that has been helping her has exhausted all their funds.

Ndumi Funda , who lost her partner to such viscous rape, is one of the founding members of the the group, “Luleki ‘Isizwe Womyn’s Project,” which was born from what has now become systemic, the corrective rape of Township lesbians in South Africa.  Desperate for money they continue to help 8 victims who they are currently housing, not knowing how many more sisters may seek help, at any time.

In African culture names are not just names, they have deep meaning.  It connects the child to the family and community.  Because of this connectedness, the child’s duty is to live in harmony with this name.

This is What Ndumi has written  -

“So where does our name come from?

The first part of our name comes from Luleka Makiwane, who was a lesbian woman.  She lived openly and had no shame about her sexuality.  She was a strong and powerful woman, and even though she fought for lesbian women’s rights, she connected strongly to the struggles of the poor in general.  She worked tireless to fight against violence against all women.  This did not protect her though, and she was violated by her own cousin who raped her.  The reason he did it ‘was to prove that she was a woman, not a man.’    As a result of the rape she became a victim to HIV AIDS and died in 2005.  She spoke about her rape and status with many of the gay community to try and educate and bring awareness of sexual and sexuality abuse.

The second part of our name comes from Nosizwe Nomsa Bizana, who was a lesbian woman.  She too was raped, gang raped by five men, because of her sexuality.  Unfortunately as a result of the vicious rape, she succumbed to Cripto Meningitis in December 16, 2007. Her story is sad, the trauma of the rape silenced her in the beginning, and she could not share this with the community.  It took a while before she could share this experience with her mother and her partner at the time.  In the end, before she passed away she was happy to be involved in the HIV Booklets of Triangle Project and thus disclose her HIV status to the broader community.

There is a general belief that lesbian women are a low risk group in terms of sexually transmitted diseases and especially HIV/AIDS.  This opinion does not however take into consideration the high levels of rape, also called ‘corrective rape,’  that particularly township-based lesbians are exposed to and which puts them at risk for STI’s and HIV/AIDS.

The stories of Luleka and Nosizwe are not the only stories that we can tell.  There are many whose stories will most probably never be told or their lives being honored in the way which we are trying to do with our initiative.  Nonetheless, we have named our project as a means to celebrate and recognize the lives and contributions of these two lesbian women who have experienced great hardship and struggle when they were alive.  Yet they continued to fight and resist against homophobia and gender based violence in the communities that they lived in.

Yes, that is the most ridiculous headline ever, but it’s true. This morning,  I almost fell off my treadmill when Perez Hilton spilled the (fake?) beans. Nick Cannon, erstwhile husband of the beautiful Mariah Carey (seriously, it makes me happy that she’s happy, which makes me a moron) was hosting NYC’s new hit music station 92.3’s morning music/gossip blend. 92.3 is personally my new favorite station and is giving z100 a run for their money. Cannon hosted a great mix of music and gossip, enough to keep my hour long treadmill run interesting when he announced his next guest was Perez Hilton. Cannon and Perez exchanged pleasantries, ignoring the jabs Hilton has made botth at Cannon for being “Mr. Mariah Carey” and for Carey’s weight fluctuation. The two talked about Lindsay Lohan and what a wreck she is and then Cannon turned the tables on Perez and asked who he was dating. Perez played it cool and said he was dating “a few guys,” meaning he had gone on a few dates with them. Cannon pushed the issue further and asked for named, this is when Perez replied “His initials are Z. E.” Cannon wiled out  and was like “Zac Efron!?!” and Perez didn’t deny.

So great. I don’t know if this is a case of Hilton having a huge celebrity crush, no one can really hate on him for that. We all have them, he just has a larger stage with which to proclaim his love. (KATE MOENNIG I LOVE YOU) But…Hilton is hard on all celebrities, except Efron, whom he has never had a mean word for. Perez also constantly disses Efron’s gf and fellow High School Musical co-star, Vanessa Hudgens. Calling the girl ugly, a slut, a ho and Vanexxxa. She certainly has not proved herself to be any of those things, as she has been dating Efron for most of her career and doesn’t have a rep for sleeping around, despite the naked picture that hit the internet a few years ago. Perez’s vendetta against Hudgens seems almost personal. Hilton has also scored tongue time with another “straight” celeb prettyboy, John Mayer. One has to wonder, is a Perez Hilton and Zac Efron hookup fact or fiction?

Kevin and Bean is the morning show on KROQ FM, an alternative rock-format radio station in Los Angeles, California.

On March 30, the show began talking about the recent coming out of singer Ricky Martin. During that conversation the topic turned towards the question “Does it matter if a celebrity is gay?”

They wondered if now-openly gay Clay Aiken and Adam Lambert had come out as being gay during the shows they were on, would they still have done as well as they had by staying in the closet?

They went on to discuss various celebrities who are commonly assumed to be gay but living in the closet and pondered whether their career would be impacted or not if they were to come out as being gay.

The celebs they discussed were Anderson Cooper, Kevin Spacey, George Clooney, and Queen Latifah.

…another outstanding example of a woman who everybody believes is gay – Queen Latifah. Enormously popular actress. In a lot of family movies, does she not come out because she thinks somehow she won’t get those roles or people wont take their kids to see those movies anymore because she lives with a woman?

This led them to ponder many questions such as “Does the gay and lesbian community resent people that don’t come out?”

The radio morning show Sarah & Vinnie, which airs from 5:30 to 10am every morning on San Francisco radio station 97.3 has recently come under fire for suspected use of gay slurs. Monday morning Sarah and Vinnie were suspiciously missing from the air. Rumors are floating around the internet that the show received an outpouring of angry remarks from viewers regarding on the January 22^nd show.

Many suspect this is a hoax meant to rouse interest in the show.  No one, most surprisingly the bloggers who make the rounds in the blogosphere have the details on what was actually said or who said it. Some bloggers going to far as to check Sarah and Vinnie’s facebook pages for updates or comments from fans about the remarks. There are none. Sarah is also reportedly on vacation and was not set to appear on the show on Monday anyway.   Vinnie is already notorious for being kicked off the show for allegedly passing out at a company function due to excessive alcohol consumption in 2002. He rejoined the show in August of 2008.  

Whether or not this particular incident is a marketing ploy, using a serious issue such as discrimination against the LGBT community is a disgusting way to generate interest in a morning radio show. Sarah & Vinnie’s marketing team should be taken to task if they are using homophobia as a way to promote their show.

“The Colony”,

The “experiment”, and I put it in quotes because you can’t take a reality show that seriously, is 10 survivors for 10 weeks in an elaborate post-apocalyptic setup. They even have a road warrior type gang come in at some point. The show has an elaborate site set up for you to “make your own colony”, offers plans for machines you’ll need after the collapse, and follow along with the show.

Now I’m a big fan of the art and talent that’s going into this. What I’m not a fan of is the possibility that The Colony will play a vital role in the process of propagandizing the public, exaggerating the threat and conditioning people to line up and demand they be injected with the swine flu vaccine. Meanwhile they are not being properly informed about the serious side effects that this vaccine, which is being rushed through testing to the public in a matter of weeks, might have.

'Marcia Brazil' and 'Brandy M'

Marcia Brazil, a reality show contestant on VH1’s Rock of Love and currently Ricki Lake’s Charm School, was seen this weekend at the Spearmint Rhino gentleman’s club in Southern California, baring her breasts on stage.

According to our source, Marcia was at the gentleman’s club for a promotional event when she was encouraged onto the stage by the club’s DJ. When he said the words “take it off”, according to our source Marcia Brazil made a gesture with her hand asking for money. Someone threw a handful of bills into the air showering her with the bills, yet she didn’t see them and grabbed the microphone to address the crowd.

She told the crowd she’s never shown her breasts in public and if they wanted to see “they would have to pay”.

Someone else showered her with bills, and again she didn’t see this. She went on to say that her breasts were “all natural”, at which point another woman told her to look on the ground and when she saw the money laying there she then lifted her top completely.

Marcia Brazil has been on promotional events at gentleman’s clubs before, and there have been no prior reports of her ever going topless.

LezGetReal was unable to confirm whether Marcia Brazil was actually doing a promotional event at the time of the display, or whether she was at Spearmint Rhino that night simply to enjoy the show. There are still a few episodes of Ricki Lake’s Charm School left, and it is not clear how this weekend’s public display will affect her relationship with the show or VH1.

I am glad to see Oprah becoming more vocal on the topic. I wish she had been more vocal about Prop. 8 before it was passed. Hopefully her participation in highlighting the topic now will have some affect on the Obama administration and the future of LGBT rights.

Billy Ray Cyrus is not taking comments made about his daughter Miley Cyrus (aka Hannah Montana) so lightly.

Recently comedy and hip-hop artist turned talk show host Jamie Foxx made comments about the young actress and singer on Foxx’s radio talk show called the Foxxhole.

After a female co-host said “Miley is a little white bitch” this is what Foxx had to say:

“Make a sex tape and grow up. Get like Britney Spears and do some heroin. Do like Lindsay Lohan and start seeing a lesbian and get some crack in your pipe. Catch chlamydia on a bicycle seat.”

Too hard to believe??

Foxx later apologized for the remarks, insisting he made the joke as a comedian.

Miley’s father, country music legend Billy Ray Cyrus, is not taking the comments so lightly saying there was “Nothing funny about it.” Billy Ray was quoted as saying “It was hurtful” and “Quite frankly, I think if I said those things about his daughter, he might not find it so comedic.”

The network that brought us the L-Word and Queer as Folks has announced plans for documentary series called “Way Out that will profile gays and lesbians coming out to significant people in their lives.

Inspired by a recent San Francisco State University study that shows negative family response to a teen’s coming out made them than eight times more likely to have attempt suicide,” the show aims not only to help the people profiled and the LGBT community in general, but also to use television’s vast reach and power to enlighten and increase understanding of what it’s like to feel compelled to hide an essential part of oneself and will try to make those first baby steps out of the closet a little easier.

“Way Out” will offer subjects a forum in which to show what life in the closet is like, to explain why they’ve chosen to come out now and to accompany them during this transformational event.

The shows producers say they will treat the people profiled and their loved ones on with the utmost care, dignity and respect and will provide a support system of counselors and therapists throughout the process.

Jackie Warner from Bravo's Work Out

Jackie Warner will be on the Oprah Show today, Wednesday, March 25. The topic will be women talking about their relationships with other woman. They had husbands and boyfriends and then fell in love with another woman. Oprah says, “It’s more complicated then you think.” I don’t know about you but the concept seems pretty simple to me. Check out the preview.

Now Ms DeGeneres does not give up easily earlier this year she announced that it was her goal to get on the cover of O magazine! Last year her goal was to get actor George Clooney in “George watch 08″ when she did not however get him in 2008 She came back in 09 fighting! with a new slogan “George is mine in 09″ After catching George she went onto trying to get on O magazine.

Now that her task is complete I wonder what Ms. DeGeneres will be seen doing next?

Kayla Tate is a 19 year old high school graduate looking to attend Winnipeg Technical for Carpentry. Kayla had a 19 year old mid-life crisis and decided that her voice needs to be heard, so she writes to help the LGBT community.

In a recent story arc of As The World Turns, the characters of Luke and Noah end up trying to move in together, and their prospective landlord tells them that the empty apartment is rented. This, of course, violates the law. Noah wants to move on and find someplace else, but Luke is angry and decides to go after the landlord. So, Luke and his mom decide to stage a protest, and to make the whole issue of housing discrimination a part of his foundation.

Now, for the totally honest part of this. Even after watching the clip, I have no clue what any of this means. When someone says As The World Turns, I tend to think about Carol Burnett. When someone says General Hospital, I think about Veterinarian’s Hospital on the Muppets. Like it or not, I know little to nothing about Soap Operas. In fact, I tend to think of the movie Soap in which Whoopie Goldberg famously (or not that famously) says “He has no head! How do I write for a man who’s got no head?!”

It is, however, nice to see television shows dealing with major issues regarding discrimination. Many shows tend to skim passed these issues. While there have been some angry voices against CSI regarding the fact that many of the times in which we see a gay or lesbian character they are either the victim of or the perpetrator of a crime. However, it is a crime show, and there are a lot of people who are the victims of hate crimes. Additionally, we are not immune to being criminals ourselves. Still, it would be nice if one of the main characters on CSI or CSI: NY were to turn out to be gay or lesbian.

I will, however, point out that I do not watch a lot of television. In some ways, I am not unlike Dr. Maddow who has a segment devoted to popular culture every episode because, as she claims, that she needs just enough pop culture to be seen in public.

Cullen has long been known as Pittsburgh’s “Lone Liberal” and was recently fired from her long time home on WPTT AM when the station flipped to an all business format.  A listener and fan based campaign responded to rumors that WAMO AM 860 was considering adding the host to their line up, which includes The Bev Smith Show, the nation’s only national African-American Nightly Talk Show.

Shortly thereafter WAMO AM 860 confirmed Lynn Cullen’s arrival on their website, and she now hosts a two-hour talk show Monday through Friday from 5 to 7 p.m.

The show focuses on Ted, the head of Research and Development at Veridian Dynamics. Veridian Dynamics is a large multinational corporation that loves a good profit without the morals. He is a single parent with a 7 year old daughter, Rose. When he’s at work, he watches over two scientists named Lem and Phil and a head tester named Linda, who he has very deep intimate romantic feelings for. Veronica, played by Portia is an emotionless, bold woman with no conscience and the boss of Ted, who she once had an affair with. Everything goes wrong when the company chronically freezes Phil the researcher. He begins to sit down and wonder about the moral of his company and what it’s all about.

The first episode of the new series was a hit!

Critics claim it was like watching “30 Rock” with some touches of absurdity from “Arrested Development.” In my opinion, this show was rather hilarious. It’s something different than what’s out there already and a comedy like no other. Sure, it’s another office-based show, but atleast this one’s funny. I guess we can all thank the director for that. I mean do we really need another reality show out there or a TV series that lacks in all aspects? This show is a must watch!!

“Better off Ted” ABC Wednesdays (8:30 pm)

As you can see by the video below, a version of the classic game was played with Ellen and her wife Portia as one of the couples participating in the game. You can clearly see on the front of the seating box for contestant couples that the proud sponsor of the segment is non other than eHarmony.com…

This raises eyebrows with any LGBT who knows what has transpired between eHarmony and non-inclusion of same-sex couples on their site. The mere presence of the eHarmony logo on a seating box that Ellen and Portia are sitting in just seems so wrong.

Showtime has a new series about a woman with multiple personality disorder called The United States of Tara. In the series there is a storyline with the main characters son who is coming to terms with the fact that he is gay. He has a crush on a boy at school, and I have been watching the show to see how things play out.

This week’s story line included a ‘Hell House’ performance by the Evangelical church youth group that Tara’s son was recruited into.

The performance showed a teen girl having an abortion because she had sex with the whole football team, and also included a scene of hell. Of course there was fire and brimstone, and lost souls there, too. The narrator of the show went on to say who was there in hell, and he was yelling off “Movie Stars”, “Butt Fuckers”, and “Gavin Newsom”.

It was interesting to me that Gavin Newsom has become a name of someone you would see in hell.

Honestly, most scenes I have seen like this work with the names of the people in hell being something like “Adolf Hitler” or “Saddam Hussein”. Anyhow, in the end of the ‘Hell House’ on The United States of Tara, you could wind up in heaven according to the churches philosophy, but in the process Tara’s son is a silent witness to the bigotry and homophobic attitudes the church is perpetuating within its youth.

A cable series with a recently lesbian storyline on HBO is called Big Love.

This is a series about a polygamist family and their experiences. It’s an intimate look into a polygamist lifestyle, and interesting to note the different situations this family finds themselves in. Deciding whose turn it is to have a baby, whose turn it is to have a career, and whose turn is it to be intimate with their husband is one example of what we see the wives handle in this show. I have been watching this show here and there, and I have noticed a couple of times where there are lesbian moments between the women on the show.

For one thing it’s kind of interesting when the husband AND all 3 of his wives start ‘dating’ another woman as the potential 4th wife.

The first wife and her husband talk about the potential new wife and she says she likes her and wants to marry her. Her reasons are for wifely duty sharing of course, but it was a little different for me to see a straight woman interested in courting another straight woman.

This last episode I caught however was blatant, episode 31.

A woman played by Sandy Martin is shown in a suit having a meeting in what looks like a barn with a few men and the main man Roman. He orders her to obey her husband which turns out to be one of the other older men, or else. She reluctantly changes her clothes into a pink dress and takes her place by his side. She looked much better in the suit.

So these are two shows worth watching if you want to see how things play out on these story lines, or at the very least get a glimpse into two very different lifestyles and situations. The United States of Tara is brought to us by Showtime, and Big Love is brought to us by HBO.

In the end we are led to believe that it was Nikki Stevens who killed Jenny, but the final episode “Last Word” really left more questions than it gave answers.

If you read my predictions for the final season you will know that I suspected that Molly was responsible for Jenny’s death because I thought her death would have something to do with her tumultuous relationship with Shane. I was right that it would have something to do with Shane, because Nikki mentioned that she say how Jenny had her on lock down and it got her upset to see Shane like that. Right up until the end I wasn’t sure who did it, and even though I said I didn’t think it could be Dylan, I almost thought it was! I thought it could have been Bette, Tina, Kit, Max, any one of them right up until the end.

Here is how the episode played out…

It starts off with Shane in the interrogation room. Right away she is saying “Listen I cant tell you I didn’t think about it. I was kidding, its not like i would ever do anything like that.” As time goes on she begins to talk about what bugs her about relationships, where one person says ‘we’ in speaking for both of them. Then she tells that the day of her death Jenny was recording a video for Bette and Tina who were going away to New York. She said she couldn’t get a word in edge wise because Jenny was saying ‘we’ through their segment. We then see Jenny and Shane taping the segment and what Jenny says at the end of their segment is that with Bette and Tina leaving it will be an adventure for them to take their place as the supreme couple. Shane is grinning and bearing the whole thing. Jenny ends their goodbye to Bette and Tina video segment with “I promise… we are going to make.” (Referring to herself and Shane.) Shane just smiles uncomfortably.

At the Planet, Alice is telling Jamie that she loves Tasha – Jamie and Tasha are on one side of the table and Alice is on the other.

Alice is asking Tasha and Jamie to be honest about what is going on. Jamie says that nothing has happened between them. Alice knows that nothing happened physically, and that they haven’t admitted it to themselves. It’s obvious to Alice that Jamie and Tasha are like minded (unlike Alice and Tasha) when Jamie and Tasha have ordered the same meal. Tasha hasn’t said much, and when Alice tells them to just admit their feelings and that it is out of their control Tasha says she’s not going to accept that. Alice is upset and says that all her military training cant make her control her feelings.

Jamie says “Ok I admit it. I am only speaking for myself, but I have think I have fallen in love with Tasha.”

Alice says “Thank you… and fuck you.” Jamie says she’s sorry and it was the last thing she wanted to happen, and she doesn’t even think that Tasha is… Alice says “Oh yes, she is.” Tasha just looks away. Alice tells Tasha “Go. You’re free.” Jamie says “Oh God do not break up over me.” Tasha says “We’re not. Don’t do this.” Alice replies “When we’re having sex I don’t close my eyes and imagine someone else naked in the shower.” Tasha tells her “Fuck you.”

Jamie is saying she is sorry and for them to just get her out of the equation and things will go back to how they were.

Alice tells Tasha just give it a try, try it. Tasha is giving attitude and saying “Try what, what the fuck does that mean”. Alice grabs her things and says “If you don’t call me by the same time tommorrow I will know you made up you mind about what you want.” Tasha replies “Alice this has never happened to me before. You know that I live a life of honor and duty.” Alice doesn’t want her to stay with her out of a sense of duty, or because it’s the right thing to do. She walks out.

The next thing we see, Alice is in the interrogation room.

She says the only person she only really loved as much as Tasha was Dana. Then we see Dylan on the balcony waving to Jenny who is approaching the front door. Helena comes out to tell Dylan Jenny is there. They have a brief argument about Dylan angling to move in with Helena, and Dylan is upset that Helena doesn’t trust her.

Jenny is there to shoot their segment for the tribute video to Bette and Tina’s goodbye party so they get started on that.

Next we see Max being interrogated, talking about the girls and calling them more than friends less than family. We move over to Kit cleaning up out back for the party and up walks Kit. They are talking, Bette says they need to fix the railing on the second floor, and they talk about the process Bette and Tina have to go through to adopt a baby. Kit mentions that they might consider adopting Max’s baby. Bette says she thinks Max is ready to be a mom and they move on. Kit asks Bette why are they really moving since they just opened the fallery and remodeled their home. Bette confides that she is ready to get out of their because Jenny is all up in her business. She tells her that Kelly made a pass at her but she didn’t tell Tina. And she can’t tell her now because it would be a mess, but Jenny is saying she saw her and Kelly together. Kit asks her what she was doing, and Bette says nothing.

Kit is being interrogated now telling the police how loving this group of friends are, and how loyal they are.

Now we are back in time again and Shane is at Alice’s house talking about the situation with Tasha and Jamie, and Jenny. Shane says she is pretty much with Jenny because she feels responsible for her. Alice doesn’t understand why she would pick her, and then goes on to say she knows Jenny stole her idea and can prove it. Shane says it’s not about that.

We see Alice being interrogated and telling us that women drive her crazy.

Back in Alice’s room, Shane says if she walks away Jenny would go off the deep end, it either Jenny’s happiness or hers. We then see Dylan on the phone and when Helena walks by Dylan quickly hangs up. Helena is suspicious and Dylan is mad about that. Then Helena is being interrogated and says being rich is a curse. She never knows if anyone really cares for her if they are just with her for the money.

Back at their argument, Helena chases Dylan and apologizes.

She says trust is hard for her. Helena and Dylan make out and wind up on the kitchen counter. Dylan asks Helena if she trusts her, and Helena says yes. Dylan grabs a knife – yikes! She puts it next to Helena’s neck, and then slices off her shirt strap. Whew! That was kinda hott, but scary. They commence to making love.

Next we see Jenny editing the video to Bette and Tina with Phylis and Joyce talking.

Then we see Bette and Tina making love, and Tina notices they have to fix the second floor railing. They kiss a bit and then Bette says that when they get to New York she would like for them to get married. More intimacy now, but this time to a Sade song “By Your Side”. ;o)

Now Bette’s in interrogation, telling us Tina is the love of her life.

Then we see Shane walking up to her house in the morning, and she sees Bette and Tina outside. They are talking about Jenny using Shane’s studio, and about the situation with Alice and Tasha. Bette thinks that Jenny gave Shane the studio so she would have something else to take away from her. Tina says Jenny’s heart is in the right place and that was harsh. Bette says “Yeah her heart is in the right place but she’s misplaced her meds.”

Interrogating Tina, she says she was jealous of Kelly Wentworth, Bette’s business partner.

Helena sees Dylan on the phone out the window again and sees Dylan leave. Alice is on the phone with Shane saying that Tasha and Jamie are probably having a good time having everything in common. She says they are so the same they can masturbate and it would be the same thing. Jenny comes home and is freaking out so Shane gets off the phone with Alice.

Jenny has to finish her tribute video but has lots of other things to do. Shane offers to do a few things for her to help her out and Jenny calms down.

Bette and Tina are cooking and Kit comes by with Sunny bringing home Angelica from the zoo. Sunny has to change for work and Bette offers him to use the powder room because she doesn’t like men in her bathroom. Tina offers the new bathroom and Bette is peeved a bit.

Shane brings Jenny all the things that they need and then is off to get her gift to Bette and Tina.

Right when she leaves Dylan walks up. Shane calls Alice back like she promised.

Back at Bette and Tina’s house everyone is chatting and when sunny comes out to leave angelica says to him “bye daddy”. It was a bit awkward but Tina says its normal.

Helena and Alice are talking on the phone now and mentions that Shane saw Dylan at the studio with Jenny.

We see Dylan telling Jenny not to tell Helena about something she confided in her about. Jenny said Dylan hasn’t come clean to Helena when she promised she would. jenny tells her to just tell her the truth. Dylan says that if Helena finds out that she knew that Nikki Stevens was a set up before she walked into Hit she would… “So your liar” says Helena from downstairs! All three get into a loud conversation about Dylan being a con artist and relationships being based on trust. Jenny tries to smooth things over a bit and says she should have never been involved in any of it. Helena tells Jenny “Fuck you Shechter you’ve been getting involved in my life for far too long now.” and then walks out. Dylan follows her and they talk more on the street. Helena will never know for sure if Dylan would have passed on Nikki Stevens and she can’t trust her – thanks to Jenny.

Shane is buying the gift for Bette and Tina when she sees Molly in the store.

She is happy to see her, but Molly tells her that she heard and Shane and Jenny and it was weird to hear that after she had seen how upset Jenny was the night she dropped off Shane’s jacket with a letter in it. Shane doesn’t have any idea what she is talking about, but since Molly is with someone and seems to be happy Shane doesn’t say anything to Molly except for small talk.

Alice shows up to Bette and Tina’s party, and Max and Helena are already there. They start talking about Jenny and nobody has anything nice to say.

Then we see Max being interrogated, and he says that Jenny was the only one who could see him for who he was and help him accept it. He said Jenny could see a person’s innermost desires and thoughts, and it was kind scary actually. Back at the party Alice says she has decided to make up with Jenny this evening for Shane’s sake and Bette mentions that they should all give it a try. They all agree. We see another interrogation and Helena is talking about how special all the friends are. She says all of their names one by one… except for Jenny.

Now we see Jenny and Kit going into the room she is using to show the video tribute.

She closes the curtain to the window with the view of the pool. Kit asks her about the situation with Bette and Kelly, saying Bette said nothing happened. Jenny says she doesn’t want to hurt Bette and Tina, and the she can see her friends want her to shut up and go away. Kit asks her for proof, and Jenny says she doesn’t want to show her. Kit says “If you have proof, I want you to show me.” Jenny plugs her cell phone into the TV and tells her she can press play.

We see the cell phone video and it looks like Bette has her head in between Kelly’s legs.

Next interrogation we are seeing is Bette’s. She is describing Jenny Schecter saying shes is talented but very complicated and complex. Then we see Shane and she is looking through Jenny’s closet for the jacket and letter. She pulls down the ladder to the attic and goes up. She looks around a bit and then finds the jacket, with the letter in it. She sits down to read the letter. After she is done she gets up to leave and accidentally pulls a sheet with her foot – which reveals the negatives to the movie ‘Lez Girls’. During her interogation Tina is asked about the movie.

Bette leads everyone upstairs to gives them a tour of the new second story (Tina stays downstairs).

Tasha is being interrogated telling them Alice has one of the biggest hearts of anybody she knows. At the party, the others are looking at the second story Kit walks in and asks to talk to Bette privately. Everyone goes downstairs and Kit tells Bette about the video. Bette denies it and doesn’t know what she is talking about and they start yelling. Kit is saying “Don’t lie I saw it; you fucked up.” Shane comes over and tells Tina to go with her somewhere.

Nikki is being interrogated and asks for a lawyer.The sergeant mentions that nobody else has asked for a lawyer.

At the party Jenny comes out and asks everyone to come to the media room to see the movie. Jenny goes upstairs to look for Bette and Tina while everyone else goes to the media room. Shane is showing Tina the negatives next door. Tina is shocked and mad.

Jenny finds Bette upstairs, and they are on the back balcony where the railing is broken.

Bette says “Jenny. Look I just want you to know something. My family and the life that I have worked so hard to rebuild for them means everything in the world to me. And there isn’t anything that I wouldn’t do to preserve or protect them.” Jenny says “I would never do anything to hurt your family. Bette I love you and I love Tina.”  Bette says “Well I’m glad to hear that because you know what? I don’t really care if you think that I fucked Kelly. All I really care about is that you know that I will not abide anyone who threatens my family.”

We see the part of Bette’s interrogation where she describes Jenny again.

Bette says Jenny is “complex, complicated, talented. Very talented. Self destructive, sometimes very generous, but complicated and complex.” The video is playing in the media room, with Jenny’s ex boyfriend Tim talking. Tina looks for Jenny in there. She says to herself “How could you do that to me? I’m just going to put her out of her fucking misery.” Alice and Shane are on the porch talking. Alice tells Shane she has decided to forgive jenny and make peace with her. Shane asks why. Alice says she is alone now and she needs her friends and since they are going to be together… at which point Shane says they aren’t together.

In the interrogation room Alice is saying “What does this have to do with who killed Jenny”. The sergeant replies “So you think someone killed Jenny.”

Bette runs into Tina, and says she was looking in on Angie. Tina said she was getting a sweater from upstairs. Tina says they need to talk and asks if Bette has seen Jenny. Max rushes in and he says he just went to get his sweater. He says he felt a kick for the first time and they all hug. Tina asks if Max has seen Jenny he says no.

Jenny’s dog is around the pool whining and sniffing

In the media room Max, Kit Shane, Alice, Helena, Bette and Tina  are watching the video and all of the old characters saying bye, and Kit says its a parade of all her exes. We see Helena’s mom and Jody and Marina from France. They wonder where Jenny is. They see Carmen on the video wishing Bette and Tina the best. They wonder if they should pause the movie. Alice says she is supposed to be her friend tonight so she’ll go find her. We see Kit talk on the video, then Shane, then Alice, then everybody together. The main girls and Max are saying “We love you Bette and Tina. We are gonna miss you Tina and Bette.”  Then Shane and Jenny give the final segment. Then Alice comes in… she is freaked out and all she can say is “Jenny, Jenny” and they all run out to see whats going on. There are splashes into the pool and next we the police pulling up, and the sergeant getting out.

She gets briefed as she walks into the house, and we see the body pulled out of the water.

Next we see the cops pull their weapons out around the pool pointing towards the bushes and shouting “Come out with your hands over your head!” and we see Nikki come out of the bushes. As the police took her through the house in handcuffs Shane says “Nikki what are you doing here?” Nikki says “I just came to talk to Jenny. I saw what was going on at the dance marathon and how she was keeping you like a prisoner and I just wanted to tell her that…” Shane says”Nikki shut up. Just shut up”

Outside Tasha walks up and seeing the police and such she is worried. she shows her police academy badge to the officer outside to get in.

She goes into the living room and says “Alice come, here are you okay? I’m here.  I’m not going anywhere. They hug and Alice is surprised. The sergeant says “I think this is going to take a bit longer than we thought.” They say “We’ll do whatever you need for us to do. “We’re a very tight knit group.” “We take care of each other.” “We don’t know what happened out there. “You probably just want us to come down to the station.”

The video finishes in the room with Jenny saying that Bette and Tina changed her life and she will never forget them so thank you for everything.

The last thing we see is all the girls nice rides pulling up and parking next to each other in front of the police station. They all get out and walk up looking sexy as hell and we get to see each of the girls (and Max too) one by one as they strut their stuff on their way to the interrogation into who killed Jenny Schechter.

Way back in episode 1 “Long Night’s Journey Into Day”, we saw Jenny’s body pulled out of Bette and Tina’s pool. The police were asking her friends questions in connection with her death. Then we got to go back in time and see the events that led up to that night and try to come to our own conclusion about what’s going to happen in the final episode which airs on Showtime Sunday March 8th, and then re-airs all week.

At the start of each episode throughout the season, the intro clip includes a character ranting in some way about Jenny, saying they are going to kill her for a variety of reasons.

In episode 2 “Least Likely” Niki Stevens has a rant about Jenny calling her a ’showmance’. She says Jenny is a liar and a user and she is “dead meat”.

In episode 3 “LMFAO” the negative to the movie was stolen and Aaron thinks Jenny took it. Since Jenny is Tina’s friend he is holding her personally responsible. Tina says to herself “Jenny I am going to fucking kill you”.

In episode 4 “Leaving Los Angeles”, Max is there with Tom and a few of the girls when Jenny comes to the table she tells Max that he is a beautiful mother. Jenny goes on and on about his breasts and hips, and Max gets up and leaves. In the restroom Max breaks down crying, saying that he hates the hormones, his tits, his hips, and Jenny Schechter.

In episode 5 “Litmus Test”, After getting off the phone Tina mentions that Jenny sold a new script for half a million dollars. Alice is listening closely when Tina tells the girls that the plot of the story is a talk show host who meets a cop and it turns into a murder mystery – the exact same plot as the treatment Alice had talked about with Jenny. Alice says “You guys that’s my story!” She storms off saying “Shechter is so fucking dead”.

In episode 6 “Lactose Intolerant”, everybody is at Jenny’s house, decorating for Max’s baby shower with a Willy Wonka theme. Helena and Dylan arrived at the baby shower, and Jenny tells her congratulations for passing the test. She tells Dylan about the test and how everyone watched her on the screen with Nikki Stevens.

In episode 7 “Last Couple Standing” the girls are at the fundraiser dance off that Jamie, Alice and Tasha put together at the Hit club. Jenny confronts Bette in private about what she saw and Bette tells Jenny she was wrong about what she thinks she saw. Jenny mentions that she is going to tell Tina if Bette doesn’t.

When the Seargant arrived at Bette an Tina’s house in episode 1, the girls that were there sitting in the living room were from left to right Shane, Bette, Tina (with Angelica on her lap), Alice, Helena, Max and Kit.

Although having had problems with Jenny before, Nikki and Dylan were not present in this scene so I am ruling them out as possible suspects in my book. One other person besides all who were on the couch that I would consider a suspect would be Shane’s ex girlfriend Molly. I don’t think that Max’s ex, Tom, or Bette’s ex Kelly (or Jody) would be suspects in Jenny’s death in my book. One thing to note is that Shane had a towel wrapped around her in the episode where we learned of Jenny’s death, and Bette is in her robe with wet hair.

There were plenty of motives to kill Jenny Schechter, but some of the people I have talked to think Jenny might have killed herself, or her death was an accident.

There was so much drama swirling around Jenny though, that I believe someone did have a hand in her death. Some of the more emotionally charged situations in Jenny’s life included her troubled relationship with Shane, and the pictures on her cell phone of Bette. I think that it’s possible Shane would snap on Jenny in some way, maybe bump her head in a scuffle or something like that since she has been aggressive in their arguments and told Jenny blatantly to back off. Jenny seemed to be in psycho love with Shane since the speech she made at the Les Girls wrap party. Bette, however, is not one in my book that would jeopardize her life and since her and Tina were thinking about going to New York there was an out there for that situation.

Now, about Molly. We never really got a resolution to that situation.

Molly came to the door, and Jenny told her about Shane and Nikki to purposely drive her away from Shane since Jenny was in love with her. Shane mentioned to Jenny that she was distraught over Molly and that was why she messed around with Nikki in the first place. I think Jenny made a mental note of that, and when Molly came around she told her things that would make her stay away from Shane forever. Then there was the jacket she hid in the attic that Molly left for Shane, and the photo of Molly that Shane was developing in the dark room at the photography studio. Plus, in every episode when Shane and Jenny were together there was this dismal sad music. This leads me to believe that Jenny’s death has something to do with Shane, although I am not sure it would have been Shane directly so that is why Molly comes to mind also.

Yes there are lots of ideas about who it could be and what could have happened, but the only way to truly find out is to tune in and watch the season finale of the hit lesbian show on Showtime March 8th.

Jenny confronts Bette in private about what she saw and Bette tells Jenny she was wrong about what she thinks she saw. Jenny mentions that she is going to tell Tina if Bette doesn’t.

Backstage, Bette and Tina are talking and Tina was offered a job, but it is in New York.

Alice overhears and now they are talking about Bette and Tina moving. Then they start talking about the baby’s mama that they are moving in. Alice says it’s a bad idea and that one of them could wind up cheating on the other with the baby’s mama and other ideas where it might not work out.

Tina and Helena meet up while watching the show from the side and Tina tells her she is sorry about Dylan.

Tina says that Dylan really loves Helena, and Helena says “Then where is she?” The Hit club DJ announces Jamie who takes the floor to talk about the LGBT people who are living on the streets of Los Angeles. She announces Alice who thanks the girl who wrote the letter that she read on The Look, Marie.

The goal for the fundraiser is $250,000.

Alice opens the floor for donations, and when Jenny makes a move to come and talk to Tina, Bette pulls Tina up on stage to make the first pledge. Kit asks the DJ to be her dance partner, Jamie offers to dance with Helena, and when Alice takes Helena to get her dance number Tasha and Jamie have a small ‘moment’. Kit and the DJ have great chemistry on the stage as they banter back and forth and then the dancing is under way. Even Jody shows up for the dance off.

While Bette and Tina are dancing, Bette is trying to tell Tina about what Jenny said to her earlier but Alice kept interrupting and asking if they thought Jamie was being weird.

During the first break, Bette runs into Jody in the bathroom. Jody tries to ignore Bette, but Jody said Jenny told her about Bette and Kelly. Bette said she saw something and it didn’t really happen like how she is saying, but Jody said Kelly told her it really did happen. Bette asks if Kelly said they slept together, and Jody said she was glad she dodged a bullet with Bette but she felt sorry for Tina then walks away. Bette calls her a bitch under her breath.

The next dance round begins and its a line dance so the girls are talking to each other from across the line.

Shane asks Bette and Tina if they are moving to New York, Jenny asks Bette if she told Tina yet, Jamie asks Tasha if she feels inspired, Alice asks Helena if she thinks there is something going on between Tasha and Jamie. Alice asks Helena if she should be worried and Helena says “Honestly, yes.”

Nikki Stevens shows up and is talking to Shane. She is hitting up on her hard, but Shane resists – a little bit.

The competition round begins and backstage Alice is dressed in hip hop gear. Shane is getting ready because her and Jenny are dancing too. Shane and Alice have a competition about being happy. Shane and Jenny dance a Spanish style romantic number and do really well. Alice, Jamie, and Tasha are dressed up like Salt n Pepa. Bette and Tina have costumes too.

Alice kind of freaks out and doesn’t want to do the show.

Tasha pumps her up and they are on their way. They perform the really look like the group while performing. Bette and Tina are worried, but one judge gives a low score. Then Shane and Nikki have sex in the bathroom! Bette and Tina perform, and during the performance Dylan shows up to apologize to Helena for walking out. Bette and Tina’s performance is a sensual couples dance which was really good, and they got a better score than the trio did. Jody dances in the competition too and does great, which surprises and worries the other girls competing.

Alice can see that things have ‘tipped’ between her Jamie and Tasha.

Bette and Tina sense it too and Bette puts her arm around Alice. Jenny approaches Nikki and tells her that she thinks she should auction off a date for herself to raise a ton of money for the shelter. Nikki says she’ll think about it. Dylan and Helena are together and happy, and they decide that they are going to start things new.

Nikki goes onto the stage to announce her donation.

She announces that she is auctioning a date with herself as her donation. Jenny bids $25,000 dollars for the date, and everybody is shocked.

Jenny puts Nikki and Shane on blast and grabs the microphone to say:

Shane, you don’t have to fuck her in a bathroom anymore. You don’t have to sneak around. I don’t want you to do that so I bought her for you. So you can have her whenever you want. Thank you.

Nikki walks away and the DJ is chuckling while everyone gasps. The DJ says turn up the music.

Jenny tells Shane, she doesn’t care she can fuck whoever she wants whenever she wants and takes off. Everyone is looking at Shane. The next morning everybody is wiped out. Bette congratulates Jody and says she was great. Bette says “I promise you I haven’t cheated on Tina. I don’t know why Kelly would say that.” Jody says she wishes her and Tina the best.

Alice approaches Jamie and asks her if she has feelings for Tasha.

Jamie says “Alice, I would never do anything.” Alice is upset and walks away.

Bette and Tina are on their way to pick up the birth mother now and wonder if they should tell Marcy about New York. They talk about what it would mean to move, discussing the gallery and their friends. Bette says just because they leave LA doesn’t mean they are leaving them.

The gentleman from the art gallery is on the stage and Kit is asking him to get down.

Over the mic he announces that he is the DJ Sunset Boulevard, and his real name is Sunny Benson. He said he is a straight man who loves his gay and lesbian family and hopes they can still accept him. Kit was upset and saying he lied to her. Sunny said he tried to tell her and he didn’t lie that she assumed things. She said she told him things she would never tell a man. He said the dress didn’t change the fact that he was a man and that she trusted him as a person. Sunny tells her she si the most beautiful woman he has ever seen, he would like to get to know her better, and take her to dinner. She is overwhelmed and walks away.

Bette and Tina are waiting at the bus stop for Marcy to come but she doesn’t get off of the bus.

Tina checks the but Marcy is a no show. Bette and Tina are sad and disappointed. Alice and Tasha are still at the Hit club dancing slow. Alice tells Tasha she’s never loved her more and she wants her to be happy. She asks Tasha if she wants to be wit Jamie. Tasha mumbles a bit and then says “I’m not ready to let you go.”

For the dance off… Tasha and Alice are the winners – the last couple standing.

Jenny asks who Jamie is and how she knows Max. Helena and Dylan arrived at the baby shower, and Jenny tells her congratulations for passing the test. She tells Dylan about the test and how everyone watched her on the screen with Nikki Stevens. She is mad as hell at Helena and storms out, while Max is walking in. The girls yell “Suprise!”

Jenny gives Max a seat on the throne with a golden ticket, hat, and a balloon.

Jamie introduces herself to Max and Jenny makes a snide remark “She’s the only non-friend here.” Shane says to Alice, Tasha, Bette and Tina “She’s just so in appropriate.” Helena comes back and she is upset that Dylan is gone. Kit tries to console her and tells her to try to call her. Bette Tina and Alice talk about how evil Jenny is and how Shane should make a run for it.

They play baby shower games such as measuring Maxs belly and ‘chocolate in a diaper’.

Max is a good sport. They ask Max some questions, about Tom and such. The girls call him an asshole and they talk about him liberally while Max says Tom is just scared. Shane and Jamie have a smoke in the kitchen and talk about Alice. Jenny walks in to tell Shane it’s her turn for the games and then tells Jamie in a bitchy way that smoking pot is not good for Max. Jamie leaves to play the games, and Jenny and Shane talk about Shane’s flirting with Jamie.

They go in the living room to cut the cake and Max opens his presents for the baby.

Bette and Tina got him a stroller that turns into a car seat and other good features. Max is a bit uneasy about talking about all the baby stuff, the birthing process and other topics the girls are bringing up. Jenny got Max a breast pump and they start talking about breastfeeding at which point Jenny says that she knows Max identifies as a man but not breastfeeding would be selfish. All the girls weigh in but Max gets upset and says its her choice whether she breastfeeds or not. Helena speaks up and asks Jenny what does she know about family, kids or anything like that.

Alice interrupts to make a speech and lighten the mood.

She talks about how Max has experienced love as both sexes and it will make him be a better parent. Max seems uncomfortable, and as Alice goes on and on about how being a single parent is good and other things like that (and takes a dig at Jenny in the process) Max starts to breathe heavily.

He kneels in front of Bette and Tina and asks them to adopt his baby.

They tell her she doesn’t know what she is talking about and how they are already adopting another baby. She hyperventilates, and freaks out the guests who start saying call 911, give her some lexapro, etc. Jenny yells out “She is pregnant you can’t give her drugs”, and Max yells at her “HE is pregnant. HE.” Jenny corrects herself, but Max in inconsolable and he yells out I don’t want to do this. Max goes home… and shaves his beard off.

Bette and Tina see Phylis’s girlfriend about the legalities of the adoption they are planning.

She announces to the couple that Phyllis accepted her proposal and they are going to get married by Gavin Newsom. When Bette and Tina say they have one more trip to Nevada, Joyce tells her that gay couples are not allowed to adopt in Nevada. She asks if they would consider one of them adopting the baby and then when they get home doing a second parent adoption. Bette doesn’t want to, Tina agrees and Joyce offers a second option – have the birth mother come to live with them and have the baby in California.

Alice, Jamie and Tasha come home from the gym.

They are all getting along real well. Jamie is going to go home, take a shower and meet them later for dinner. Alice tells her to just take a shower there and Tasha offers her some clothes to wear since they seem to be the same size. When Tasha takes Jamie the clothes she is topless in her underwear only and Tasha gets a pretty good view of what Jamie’s got to offer. Tasha walks right out, climbs on top of Alice and puts her hand down Alice’s pants. They start having sex and try to be quiet but Jamie hears them anyway. She comes into the living room when they are finished and then Tasha goes off to take a shower. After a second Alice goes after her and leaves Jamie alone in the living room.

Bette and Tina talk about having Marcy come to live with them.

They talk to their contractor about the plans for the house and wonder about her sexuality behind her back. Jenny surprises Shane with her own photography studio and Shane is blown away. She says she doesn’t deserve it and hasn’t even been taking pictures. Jenny says she should, and that she should have her own space. Shane says “Thank you”.

Tina is leaving to New York, and Bette is staying behind to keep on top of the construction.

The contractor is listening in on them from the stairs. When Tina leaves she asks Bette if she is ok. The contractor asks Bette if Tina is her sister, and Bette tells her she is her partner. The contractor says “I know that but is she your sister?” as if she were a business partner. She asks about Bette’s gallery show and tells her she is going because she heard it is a good place to pick up men. Bette is amused because she thinks the woman is a ‘dyke’ but doesn’t know it.

Helena is getting drunk at the Hit club, and Kit tells her she has had too much to drink.

Helena gets a bit rough and tells Kits she’s not her fucking mother. The DJ sees Helena being aggressive with Kit and when they talk about it she says she wants to see Helena and Dylan work it out. The DJ is confused, and says I thought you were partners why would you want to push her into the arms of someone else? Kit is surprised. She makes it clear that she is not a lesbian, saying her body doesn’t respond to her own kind.

Bette is at the gallery getting things together, and Kelly is still flirty with her.

Bette is oblivious to it, but when Kelly asks her to get off the phone with Alice for a minor thing, Bette makes it clear that her relationship with Tina is solid and deserves respect.

Tasha and Alice go over to Jamie’s place and while waiting for her to change she has the door open and Tasha catches another glimpse of Jamie in her underwear and this time looks a couple more times on purpose. When Alice is zipping up Jamie’s dress Tasha sneaks a glance at the moment.

Kit and Helena show up to the art show and have a quick chat with Kelly and Bette.

Helena goes off to get a drink and Kit goes off to look at art where a gentleman makes a comment to her about the beautiful art dealers with puts her off.

Jenny and Shane are at the art show too, Shane is eating oysters and the two are having a good time.

Tasha, Alice, and Jamie show up to the art show, and Nikki Stevens does, too. She runs right into Shane after she takes some pictures with Bette and Kelly. Nikki invites Shane to leave the place right away, and they do – they walk right back past Bette, Kelly and the cameras and make a dash.

Kit is looking at art and the same gentleman approaches her.

He says something to her that is provocative and she splashes her drink in his face before walking away. She doesn’t realize its the DC from Hit club who was trying to be romantic.

Jamie, Tasha, and Alice are watching Bette and Kelly and having a conversation.

Jamie notes that Bette and Kelly make a good couple, and finish each others sentences and things. Jenny asks them if they have seen Shane but they haven’t. Tasha and Jamie agree on certain things and have a similar background, but Alice can’t relate. Alice mentions that Tasha has never opened up like that before.

Shane is at her photography studio with Nikki in the dark room working on photos.

Shane develops a picture of Molly. Nikki thinks it’s beautiful. She says maybe Shane can shoot her and she kisses her – but Shane throws up… in the bin with Molly’s picture.

Bette is paying the babysitter when Kelly shows up at the front door with a bottle of champagne.

Jenny is calling Shane and looking all over the place for her. She finally gets a hold of her and finds out she is at the photo studio. Jenny starts to take care of her, it looks like Shane ate something bad. Kelly is hyped up and being loud drinking champagne and excited that their show just about sold out. Jenny gets Shane home and in bed, but she is still sick.

Kelly makes her move on Bette and tells her she wants to cash in on a raincheck.

Bette says that coupon expired 15 years ago. Kelly tries to kiss Bette and Bette pushes her off, making her drop and break her glass. Jenny tucks Shane in and when Shane says thanks she says she will always be there for her. Jenny is going next door to tell Bette about Shane getting sick when she sees Kelly sitting down from behind and Bette knelt down in front of her.

From her perspective, it looked like Bette was cheating on Tina with Kelly, so she took a picture on her cell phone.

After getting off the phone Tina mentions that Jenny sold a new script for half a million dollars. Alice is intrigued because Tina mentions that Jenny just cranked it out, and Jenny told her before that you can’t just crank out a screenplay like Alice tried to do. Helena wonders what it is about and laughs. Bette asks Tina if she should be worried, if Jenny made lies about their relationship. Alice is listening closely when Tina tells the girls that the plot of the story is a talk show host who meets a cop and it turns into a murder mystery – the exact same plot as the treatment Alice had talked about with Jenny. Alice says “You guys that’s my story!”

She storms off saying “Shechter is so fucking dead”.

Alice shows up at Jenny’s house and confronts her. She says “Jenny you stole my idea!” Jenny acts like she doesn’t know what she is talking about and calls what Alice was doing a jumble of ideas and pure coincidence if her script had any resemblance. Shane walks in with no idea what is going on. Alice tells Shane that Jenny has crossed the line, and tells her if she is going to continue to sleep with Jenny she is not going to be friends with her anymore then storms out. When Shane asks Jenny what is going on she tells her about Alice accusing her of stealing her idea. Jenny says Alice will just have to get over it.

Alice calls Tina on her cell phone and talks about how Jenny stole the script.

She walks into the Planet where Tina and Bette are still working because the house is being worked on and Tina doesn’t want to go to the office with all the drama over the negative. Alice gets a text message and announces she is going to Hit club with Tasha and Jamie. Alice starts raving about Jamie and , Bette closes her laptop for this one. She tells Alice that she is having a third wheel crush. Alice is skeptical. Bette explains that it happens when a couple has been dating for a while and stating to grow bored and then they start fighting all the time.

Tina continues saying the couple will meet a new person and start hanging out all the time the 3 of you and it’s great.

And this new person the new person revitalizes the relationship pouring all this energy and excitement into it. They talk about couples who had this happen and how long it lasted. They say things are okay as long as things don’t ‘tip’, and one member of the couple falls in love with the third wheel and decides to act on it. Alice says that they are wrong but Bette says she should check herself before she wrecks herself. Helena and Kit have sat down at the table towards the end of the conversation and want to know what is going on.

Tina explains that Alice and Tasha are having a third wheel crush on Jamie.

The girls heckle Alice over it a bit. Kit says that’s dangerous business and speaking of dangerous business points out Helena. Helena announces that she is having dinner with Dylan and the girls are against it. They suggest that Helena does some sort of test to prove if she is a gold digger or just misunderstood. They brainstorm a bit and decide to test Dylan with Nikki Stevens to see if Dylan is loyal to Helena. Helena is a bit nervous about the whole thing, but she does give the okay in the spirit of curiosity. The girls put a plan in action.

Shane sees Nikki and asks her to do the favor.

Alice has Jenny impersonate Nikki Stevens manager to Dylan over the phone and set up a meeting at Hit club. Dylan calls Helena to ask if it is okay and Helena says yes its fine.

Shane and Jenny, are both home after a long day and are talking about the scheme.

Jenny didn’t know Shane was in on it and when she finds out that Shane saw Nikki she tells her she can’t do that. She says she forbids it because Nikki betrayed them. Shane is not cool with that, and they have a spat over it. Jenny says out of loyalty to Jenny she should hate her. Jenny says Nikki is getting between them. She doesn’t want Shane to speak to her ever again. Shane says she doesn’t have any feelings for Nikki and that Jenny needs to back off. Jenny tells Shane “Ok, I’m wrong and I should trust you.” Shane is surprised but happy. They agree no more fighting.

Bette and Tina, plus Kelly and a gentleman named Caleb are having dinner.

Bette takes a phone call for a minute and Kelly admits that Bette was the one that got away. She asks Tina if she minds her flirting with Bette, and Tina says no. Tina says that Bette knows if she cheats on her it would be the end of them, so if it makes her feel scandalous and sexy have at it.

William and Aaron walk into the restaurant with a group, and because Tina wasn’t invited she knows she’s been fired.

Over at the Hit club, Alice, Helena, and Kit are looking at the club through the security monitors. Jenny and Shane show up and there is a brief argument between Alice and Jenny over the script. Jenny pretty much blows Alice off and Alice tells Helena to keep Jenny away from her or she’s gonna kill her. Dylan and Nikki show up at the club separately, as everyone can see on the security monitor. Nikki calls Shane on her cell phone to ask her if it’s a go. Jenny wonders why Nikki has Shane’s cell phone number, and after thinking about it a second Helena gives the green light and Nikki is going in to meet with Dylan.

Nikki meets with Dylan in a VIP gazebo and is flirty with Dylan but doesnt remember the name of her film.

The girls are eating popcorn and watching the whole thing. Tina tells her table she needs to get some air, at which point Bette walks over to the table where Aaron and William are sitting. She starts to go off on them when Tina comes up and asks her what she is doing. She said she is defending her and Tina says she is capable of defending herself.

Aaron tells his table that he is “so happy to be done with dykes”.

Tina goes off on him this time! At the same time she tells the writers he is wining and dining (who were hers) that he called them talentless hacks. She loudly accuses William of stealing the negative to the film for insurance money, and of forging her signature.

Nikki is telling Dylan what she thinks the “film” should be about.

Dylan doesn’t agree, and tries to explain her creative vision; but Nikki is clearly not on the same level as Dylan. The girls watching think that Dylan is acting appropriately, but Shane says give it a second she knows Nikki will make her move – at which point they see Nikki move from her seat next to Dylan on her seat.

Right when Nikki says she is attracted to older women, Alice sets down her popcorn bowl on the keyboard and the screen goes blank.

They scramble to fix it and when it is back on Nikki is wooing Dylan and tells her directly if she wants to direct the movie she has to go home with her (as she put her hand on her knee). Dylan’s response: “Then I guess I’m not going to be directing this movie.” The girls in the room cheer!

Alice says she passed the test and Helena seems to be in shock, then she leaves the room.

Everyone else leaves the room except for Alice who sees Tasha and Jamie walking through the club together, and then goes down to join them.

Helena approaches Dylan and asks her how her meeting went.

Dylan says she wasn’t what Nikki was looking for. Dylan says she came back to LA after all this time because she could never stop thinking about Helena and has always been madly in love with her. Helena invites her to talk somewhere else because that location is not private.

Jenny watches Nikki dance. Alice Tasha and Jamie dance together.

Then Shane caught Jenny checking her text messages. She is pissed and tells Alice to “watch” Jenny for her for five minutes and to call her if Jenny comes looking for her. Shane tells Jenny someone told her the headlights were on and she would be back in five minutes.

Helena is back at Dylan’s place, but doesn’t know what she is doing there.

Dylan says they can just talk. They have a cup of tea and Helena is not interested in what Dylan is talking about – so she tells her so. Then she starts to caress her hand, and they kiss. Then do a lot more than just kiss… for a long time, and very, very slowly.

Shane is outside smoking a cigarette.

Nikki is outside too and bums a cigarette from her. They talk about the scheme against Dylan, and smoke their cigarettes. Nikki says “What you’re not going to talk to me?” Shane tells her it’s not a good idea because her and Jenny are together. she said maybe if her and Jenny weren’t together it would be different. Nikki tells Shane if it doesn’t work out to find her. Shane walks away and Nikki is pissed after she leaves.

Inside Jamie and Tasha are defending Alice over the screenplay and let Jenny know how they feel.

Jenny says Alice did not have an original idea and she is letting this affect their friendship. Jenny asks Shane to tell Alice she is wrong, and they are asking Shane to pick a side.

Shane won’t pick a side and then Jenny and Shane begin to fight – in the middle of the dance floor.

Jenny wants to know where Shane was, and asks if she was fucking Nikki in the bathroom. Shane tells her she needs to “lay the fuck off”. They yell back and forth, and Shane says she would choose the friendship over the relationship. Jenny says that they only thing that will get in the friendship is if something gets in the way of their romantic relationship. They kiss and makeup. Jenny says “I love you.” Shane says “Me too.”

Helena and Dylan are still slowly having a roll around the living room, when Helena starts crying. She says she is scared. Dylan says she is scared too. Then they do some more slow stuff. ;o)

Tasha, Jamie and Alice continue to dance with each other happily.

Max is there with his baby daddy and a few of the girls when Jenny comes to the table she tells Max that he is a beautiful mother. This upsets Max, and when Jenny goes on and on about his breasts and hips, Max gets up and leaves. In the restroom Max breaks down crying, saying that he hates the hormones, his tits, his hips, and Jenny Schechter.

Out at the table, Alice and Tasha, Bette and Tina, plus Jenny and Shane are talking about the situation.

Shane says she can’t believe Max is going to have that baby. Tasha says a couple months from now all people are going to see are two gay dads. Jenny has an epiphany and thinks she knows who stole the negative – William. She said she heard a conversation about making a false insurance claim before. Bette and Tina announce that they are going to Laughlin, Nevada to meet the birth mother of a baby they might adopt.

Bette’s old friend Kelly Wentworth shows up and they go off to a table to talk.

The other girls ask who is that and keep their eyes on them. Tina keeps telling them about the birth mother and that the father is African American when Kit comes over and asks what Kelly was doing there. The girls ask if anything ever happened between Kelly and Bette. Tina said no, but Kit said “Excuse me my sister almost killed herself over that B I T C H”

Just then Dylan walks in. Everybody is tripped out, and says Dylan is insane.

Kit says that Dylan says she has a meeting with Tina. Tina says no – she a meeting with… a… filmmaker. She realizes she’s been set up and walks over to see what Dylan has to say.

Max and Tom go to a Lamaze class.

The teacher keeps referring to Max as a her, but tries to change it to say “the legs” instead of “her legs”. It’s pretty uncomfortable for them when she starts to demonstrate how to “prep the perineum” on a mock vagina.

Bette and Kelly are eating at the Planet and talking about their careers and such.

Dylan and Tina are talking at the same time, and Tina wants to know what she wants. Dylan says she’s sorry for betraying her as a director. She says she is here because she has nothing to lose and that Helena is her life and she would give anything to have another chance with her. She wants Tina to help her and Tina says she can’t.

Bette and Kelly are talking about the art industry, and Kelly wants Bette’s advice on how to make her gallery big.

Bette suggests the way to do that is for her to go and work there. Kelly is stunned and asks about her current position, and Bette tells her she resigned because she wanted to get back in the trenches. She offers to become her partner. Tina is in the background keeping a watchful eye.

Back at the table Alice tells Helena that Dylan said she was the love of her life.

Jenny offers Helena protection. Helena says she is fine and appreciates the concern. She wants to know more, and Tina tells her that Dylan is a gay filmmaker now and they pass around Dylan’s business card and scoff at it. They talk about setting up Helena with somebody. Jody comes up and, then they mention Jamie the woman from the LA Gay and Lesbian Center. They call her on the phone, without asking Helena what she thinks. As they are talking on the phone Helena pours herself a drink. She says she will go out on a double date with Jamie and then puts Dylans business card in her bra.

Jenny and Shane are at their house doing what is called Clutter Clearing.

Jenny says its a good thing to do when starting a new project or a new relationship. They start in Jenny’s closet. Jenny says its symbolic and all about making choices. As they go through the clothes, Jenny asks Shane to help choose which pieces of her personality she should move on from and leave in the past by choosing things from her closet to get rid of. When Shane starts picking things out, Jenny wants to keep everything she picks so Shane just walks away.

Meanwhile Bette and Tina are packing to go to Laughlin but arguing about Kelly at the same time.

Tina says Bette was flirting with Kelly, and she doesn’t want Bette going back into the gallery business when her job is not that secure. Bette says if she doesn’t like it come up with something better.

Shane and Jenny go through Shane’s closet… well Jenny does.

She takes out clothes from Shane’s exes, and when Carmen’s clothes come out Shane says she wants a small remembrance of her. Jenny says that’s the old Shane, but Shane says she’s not throwing her away. Jenny is okay with it and they kiss.

Bette and Tina are at the airport, talking about Tina starting her own gallery and Bette says it would be too expensive so Kelly is a Godsend. Tina brings up what Kit said about Bette wanting to kill herself over Kelly. Bette says its a complete exaggeration. Wasn’t there someone Tina wanted to kill herself over when she was younger? They kiss then get in the taxi with Angelica on their way to meet the birth mother.

Alice and Shane are eating at the cafe and talk about Jamie and Helena. Alice seems infatuated with her friend Jamie. Jenny shows up and joins them. It’s awkward for Alice, she seems like a third wheel.

Bette and Tina meet the birth mother of the child they wanted to adopt.

The young mother has two children already and lives with her mother and stepfather. The mother and stepfather arrive a bit after some small talk between the birth mother and lesbian couple. The birth mother’s mother asks which one of them is Angelica’s mother. Bette tries to explain that Tina carried her, yet she adopted her and so they are both her mother. The stepfather points out that he would have thought that Bette was the mother and the conversation keeps going down a slippery slope until the birth mother tells her parents that Tina and Bette are together as a couple. The mother is not okay with that and the stepfather asks them to leave.

Alice and Jamie (not Tasha) are making dinner for their double date and talking about making a difference.

Jamie invites Alice to work at the center, lead a workshop or help with fundraising. Jamie teaches Alice some new tricks with food and Jamie admits she is nervous to meet Helena. (for a second Alice thought she meant she was nervous around her)

At the Hit club, Kit is talking to the DJ, a drag queen she chats with from time to time about men, women and past relationships. When asked where Helena was, she mentions that Dylan Moreland is trouble and her friend tells her she’s got her back.

Helena shows up to dinner with Alice, Tasha, and Jamie.

Helena and Jamie are introduced, all seems well, Alice recommends the nut loaf. Back at the Hit club, Max walks up on Tom getting a phone number from some random guy. Kit walks up and hears them fighting about it. Tom runs off and Kit tells Max it’s just a few more months and to hang in there. Max apologizes to Tom saying he is scared and things are happening with his body. He says he knows Tom is going to be a great dad and they hug.

Alice is showing Jamie her baby pictures, and they all start talking about how many kids they want to have.

It comes up that Helena has two kids, and that her ex has custody. Jamie says it must be hard to only see them every few months. Helena starts talking about her custody case and such at which point Alice and Tasha change the subject and propose a board game. Helena says she has to go. When Alice walks her out, Jamie and Tasha look at her and Jamie shakes her head “no”, as in no she is not interested in Helena. Tasha laughs and says ‘We tried’.

Helena drives to the place on the business card and sees Dylan come out of her house.

She approaches her as she goes to her car. Dylan just starts to say she is sorry and she doesn’t know what to do. Helena says have dinner with me I’ll let you know when and walks away. As she walks always she is saying to herself ‘fuuuuck’.

In the meantime Jenny surprises Shane when she turns her bedroom into an office.

She said she doesn’t want to type in the kitchen anymore and since they are sleeping together she thought it would be perfect. Shane is not happy about it and says no, and asks Jenny if she is testing her. She asks Jenny, “Are you putting on the crazy jenny show to see how far you can push things with me… is that what this is?” Jenny starts to put things back the way they were, and Shane says don’t get melodramatic. Jenny asks Shane “Do you hate me” Shane says “No”. Jenny asks “Do you love me?” Shane says “I do. I love you. I do.”

Tasha and Jamie are doing dishes and getting along well, and Alice comes in and sees Jamie touch Tasha’s shoulder so she kisses her other shoulder.

Alice and Tasha seem to be competing for attention from Jamie, and during the conversation Alice has a good fundraiser idea and Jamie asks them both to help with it. She gives them both hugs and there is a chemistry between Tasha and Jamie as well as Alice and Jamie.

Kit is back at Hit club talking to her dj friend about men again and fantasizes about a man walking up to her in the grocery store and saying she is beautiful; and that he wants to wake up with her legs and arms wrapped around him.

Max and Tom are home talking about things, and Tom tells Max to stop talking down about himself.

He watches max undress from the reflection in the window, seeing his female pregnant body completely. Max settles into bed with Tom and they go to sleep after Max says he will stop talking down about himself.

Bette and Tina are back at the hotel and are trying not to be discouraged.

Bette is stunned by the ignorance and says maybe they dodged a bullet because she is having second thoughts about the adoption. She thinks that maybe the baby would have had a genetic imprint which included the families way of thinking, and she said she didn’t think she would want that around Angelica.

Someone knocks on the door.

It is Marcy. She says she is sorry about them. They are against alot of things, but she doesn’t care. They are the family that she wants her baby to go to.

Tina and Bette look at each other considering what they were just talking about.

Tina asks Marcy if she met the other two couples. She said they weren’t as interesting as Bette and Tina, and she didn’t like them as much as she liked them. She says “This baby, he is going to have an interesting life.” Bette says “he?”, and Marcy says “yes it’s a boy”. She said that was another reason she wanted them to be his parents; because this world needs boys who are going to do things different. Marcy said she wanted her baby to have a chance and to make the world a little better, and she thinks he will have that with Bette and Tina as his parents. Bette is on the verge of tears. Tina hugs Marcy and then Marcy hugs Bette.

When she leaves, Bette and Tina hug.

The next morning, they wake up and Bette says she is happy, and that what she said about having second thoughts was a momentary thing. They grab each others hands and Bette say “We’re gonna have a baby.”

Meanwhile, Max wakes up alone.

He looks in the closet and Tom’s stuff is gone. Max has been abandoned.

She goes to his office and he is angry with her and yelling. She has no idea what he is talking about, and he reveals that the negative to their movie was stolen from their lab – they have no more film. Aaron thinks Jenny took it and since she is Tina’s friend he is holding Tina personally responsible.

Tina says to herself “Jenny I am going to fucking kill you”.

Shane and Jenny wake up naked, and we get to see the girls in all their glory. Shane doesn’t know what to say and Jenny says “I’m happy we fucked.” Shane asks if she is sure, then commences to more of what they were doing the night before – until the doorbell rings.

Jenny forgot she was supposed to look over Alice’s treatment. Jenny wonders if they made a mistake, Shane says no and answers the door.

Alice knows the you’ve had sex all night look and asks Alice if it’s someone she knows. Shane try’s to play it off, and Alice asks a bunch of questions. Jenny comes in and Alice sees them talking and can tell they’ve been sleeping together. When they go in the room, she silently freaks out. The girls come back in the room Shane tells her they will talk later, Alice goes into the bathroom and texts all the other girls – “OOOMMMGG!!!!! JENNY AND SHANE HAD SEX LAST NIGHT!!!” She sends another text right after that says “WITH EACH OTHER!!”

All of the girls have funny reactions to the message.

Helena is running on the treadmill and falls off, Bette is at a meeting and laughs out loud, and Kit doesn’t know why her cell phone keeps buzzing because she doesn’t know what a text message is.

Jenny tells Shane she doesn’t want to put any expectations on their relationship, while Alice listens from the other side of the door with Helena on the phone. Jenny wants boundaries, and she wants things to be different. Alice and Helena are grossed out.

Jenny would appreciate it if Alice didn’t mention it to anyone.

Bette has a meeting with Jody at work. She tells Jody that working together has become uncomfortable and asks her to resign. Jody says no, that she loves her job. Bette tells her is she doesn’t resign she will have to fire her and Jody says go ahead. Alice is working with Jenny, and keeps getting phone calls from everyone since she sent out the text. Jenny lays into Alice about what she wrote, tells her writing a screenplay is a craft and Alice has to take things seriously if she wants to work with her.

Jenny tells Alice to pitch her idea to her, and after she does she tells her its boring and won’t sell.

Jenny tells Alice she should go into cartoon voice overs, and then Tina drops by. Tina approaches Jenny about the stolen negative and asks her if she stole it. Jenny is upset and tells her to ask Adele. Jenny is adamant that she did not steal the negative and that Tina needs to find it or her whole life is over.

Shane and Alice have a bite to eat together at the Planet and discuss the situation of Jenny.

Shane says they are not going to add water and have an instant relationship, but that she wouldn’t mind if it happened again (them having sex). Bette approaches her boss Phylis about Jody, and finds that Jody is already in her office. Phylis tells her she is allowing dyke drama to interfere with her job, and the way she is treating her is sexual harassment.

Shane and Jenny have sex again, even though Shane told Alice they wouldn’t.

On the show The Look, Alice is supposed to share secrets, but instead shares a letter from a girl whose brother was a victim of a hate crime. Alice goes out on a limb and talks about how outing people can sometimes be deadly.

Everybody is looking at Tina like she is responsible for the film being gone.

Aaron wants to see her again. He shows her a letter with her signature releasing the negative for the film to a messenger service. Tina is outraged and doesn’t know who wrote the letter.

Phylis and Bette have a drink together, where Phylis asks Bette to resign instead of Jody.

She goes over her history, pointing out that she has had similar problems in the past. Phylis also confesses to Jody that she has had a crush on her for years, and it has been difficult not to act on. Phylis tells Bette “You are and will always be the woman of my dreams.”

Dylan sends Helena flowers at the Planet while Alice is worried about getting fired for reading the letter she wrote on the air.

While she is getting ready for the meeting where she is expected to be fired, she gets a call from the LA gay and lesbian center. Alice and Tasha go down to the center, where the girl who wrote the letter is out on the ledge and won’t come inside. Alice goes on the ledge to talk to the girl, whose name is Marie. They have a heart to heart talk, and Alice tells her how her letter is helping to change the world.

Over at the Hit club, the girls toast Alice and Tasha says she is proud of her.

Kit sees Jenny and Shane kissing, and runs to tell the other girls. They all laugh at her, because she didn’t know how to check her text messages. When Shane and Jenny walk up they all try to act normal. They both make excuses to check out the second floor, and all the girl laugh when they leave. They are all having a good time at the club, and see Shane and Jenny up on the balcony.

The new couple kiss officially in public at the top of the balcony in front of everyone.

She has her entourage google it for her, then screams at everyone to get out. She says Jenny is a liar and a user and she is dead meat. Kit and Helena are working on the nightclub together, and Shane is continuously trying to get Jenny to forgive her. Jenny finds out that Alice is writing a treatment for a screenplay and is a bit irritated by it. Tasha and Alice aren’t seeing eye to eye on a lot of things, and Bette and Tina are caught in the middle of the Jenny and Shane feud. Alice tells Jenny that her and Shane need to “work their shit out”.

Bette and Tina announce that they have high hopes of adopting a baby, which is prompting them to remodel their house.

Jenny is concerned since she is looking for a new roommate and makes it clear to Shane that she won’t forgive her. The Lez Girls movie title is changed to The Girls and when Tina objects she is told “Get on board, the train is no going to Lezzy Town.” Jody is doing an art exhibit with the piece she did about Bette, and of course Bette is upset. She isn’t able to talk to Phyllis about it because Joyce shows up naked in Phylis’ office. She proposes to Phyllis that they get married while gay marriage is legal in California; and offers to marry her on the front steps of city hall in San Francisco, being married by ‘Gavin’. Phyllis says yes and they are excited. Max goes to his final consult for his female to male transition surgery and all looks well except for one problem. Max is pregnant. He thought taking the testosterone would stop his female reproductive system from working but apparently not. Max is extremely disappointed that he will have to postpone his surgery.

Alice and Tasha go to see a therapist and just when they think they are doing good he tells them that they have nothing in common and shouldn’t be together.

They are upset by the diagnosis and denying that it could be true. They wind up having sex in the parking garage immediately after the appointment. Meanwhile, Max goes to his appointment at the OB-GYN to see about having an abortion. The receptionist thinks he is joking, and threatens to call security. The waiting room gasps when he yells out “I’m a female to male trans-sexual. I’m a man and I’m pregnant. Don’t you read the fucking tabloids.” Classic. Even more classic is when Max and Tom meet up in the hallway after finding out he is 4 months and too far along to abort, and Max (with full beard) angrily yells at Tom “You got me pregnant!” That was indeed a classic TV moment. Back at home, Tasha and Alice come up with a pros and cons list to further evaluate their relationship.

Bette and Tina run into Bette’s old college friend at an art show who is flirty flirty with Bette right in front of Tina.

Before they leave, Bette also gets into it with Jody. When Bette and Tina get home they have a heated discussion about Bette’s flirting, and their lesbian bed-death ends when Bette says Tina’s the only one for her and they fall passionately into bed together. I wonder who was babysitting Angelica? Couldn’t have been Helena, Kit, Tasha or Alice because they were at the night club when Helena’s ex(tortionist) Dylan shows up! (Yes, at the gay club!) Of course you know its drama and Dylan says she’s sorry. Helena let’s it slide but when she sees Dylan leave she can’t help but follow her out and get in her face. Helena is hotttt in this scene.

Max and Tom make up and talk about being two “West Hollywood Fag Dads”.

Max is going to think about having the baby, meanwhile Shane has given up on trying to win Jenny over. Jenny tells Shane that it was her she was talking to when she said ‘You broke my heart’. She said she realized that her heart was broken because she is in love with Shane. Whaaat?? Yes. That’s what she said!! She said she is in love with Shane and feels like one of the sorry girls who Shane has hurt in the past. Shane commences to kissing Jenny, and they seem to be headed down that path together…

We start things off with police activity and the Sergeant arriving at Bette and Tina’s house. We learn that one of the girl’s died in the pool. In the house all of the L Word main characters are sitting in the living room on the couch, as they pull the body from the pool, then bring it out through the living room. Jenny Schechter lays dead on the gurney.

3 months earlier….

We are taken to the night of the wrap party for Les Gurlz when Jenny is speaking. Tina finds out the ending has been changed by the marketing department. They think the movie is too gay, and they want the movie to end with the main character Jesse going back to Jim. We then see Jenny and Shane arguing when she finds Shane in a compromising situation with Nikki. A high speed car chase back to their house ensues, with Shane chasing Jenny, and Nikki chasing Shane only she has a driver.

Meanwhile, Tasha and Alice are having relationship issues, and when Alice takes Helena’s call while they were talking Tasha starts packing.

Alice doesn’t want to break up, but she did want to after she had talked to Shane. Now that Shane messed around with Nikki, Alice was thinking twice about taking her advice. Tasha doesn’t think it’s right that Alice even thought about breaking up.

Shane is still trying to get into the house while Jenny holds the door closed and then locks Shane out.

Bette and Tina are having a conversation about what’s going on with the film when they hear the yelling next door between Jenny and Shane. Bette says “poor Shane”, her and Tina begin to debate the issue, and then decide they shouldn’t talk about it.

Nikki gets the keys and her and Shane get in the house.

Shane appeals to Jenny, apologizes, grovels, offers to be her slave. Nikki doesn’t help as she continues to interrupt with idiotic comments. Jenny winds up throwing a lamp and something else and storming into her room.

Alice and Tasha are trying to talk things out, but Tasha says they don’t have anything in common.

Tasha says things were hot when she was a lesbian in uniform, but they have to have more in common than just sex.

Shane is worried about the situation with Jenny, but Nikki just blows it off and invites Shane back to her hotel room. Shane is not interested, and Jenny throws some of Shane’s things out essentially kicking her out.

Bette and Tina are worried about Angelica because she has a fever.

Shane comes knocking and needs a place to stay. Bette and Shane have a chat, and Shane reveals that she loves Molly. She says she knows because she was faithful to her. Bette says “it must have been hard.” Tina says “how fucking hard is it to stay faithful to someone you love.” Tina is wound up about what’s going on with the movie, and decides to call William but he winds up hanging up on her.

All the while Helena and Kit are working on a new name for their nightclub, and put their names together to call it the Hit club.

Back at the house, Tina is giving Shane a hard time for not thinking. Bette jumps in and says she’s being judgmental, and the conversation becomes a bit more about what’s going on between Tina and Bette than Jenny and Shane. Angelica calls for Mommy and Mama and is coughing badly.

Alice and Tasha are still talking about things but it’s not going well.

Alice blurts out that she “didn’t even really kiss her” right when Shane comes by to ask if she can stay. Tasha leaves, she is mad at Alice and Shane.

Tina and Bette having to take the baby to the hospital, her fever is 104 degrees.

Next door Molly comes looking for Shane, and Jenny answers the door. Molly is insistent on looking for Shane, and Jenny tells her she’s at the hotel with Nikki. She tells her that she doesn’t know how long it’s been going on. Molly is upset, and leaves Shane’s jacket for her with a letter in the pocket. Jenny reads the letter.

however fleeting they may be

Jenny puts the jacket up in the attic.

At the hospital, the nurse tells them to put one name as the mother or she cant process their paperwork and Bette goes off.

She tells the nurse:

“Are you kidding me? This is Los Angeles. There’s same-sex families on every fucking street corner. She was born in this fucking hospital and both our names are on the fucking birth certificate so why don’t you just give us a break you bueracratic maggot and get our daughter in to see a God damn doctor! Please.”

Shane runs into Nikki, and Nikki is all over her.

Then Jenny texts her and tells her if she wants to see her to go over. Shane tells her to go. Bette read the thermometer wrong and Angelica is fine. Tina and Bette share a kiss in the car. Alice follows Tasha to her friends house. Nikki goes to Jenny’s house, and Jenny is all over her.

Jenny and Nikki have a hott sex session, and Nikki keeps saying she is sorry and other things the whole time while Jenny just says Shhhh.

Shane doesn’t have anywhere to go, and Alice and Tasha are now having their problem conversation at Tasha’s friends house. Helena is keeping things cool at the Hit club, and Shane winds up there. They proceed to do shots together. Bette apologizes to Tina for taking Shane’s side earlier. She promises to Tina that she shares her values about family and faithfulness, and that she will never ever cheat on her, again.

Tasha and Alice leave the friends house after sex noises from the room become too much.

Jenny and Nikki finish having sex, and Shane is drunk at the Hit club, winding up going home with Kit. Back at home Tasha and Alice are not supposed to have sex, yet Alice squirms her way into bed with Tasha. Tasha wants to be sure that they are going to stay together, and they talk about going to therapy. Kit gives Shane advice, and tells her to fight for Jenny and fight for the friendship.

When Jenny and Nikki wake up the next day, Nikki is happy things are ok between them, telling Jenny she is so sexy and she loves her.

Jenny tells Nikki “You didn’t break my hear. Your nothing but a self absorbed self indulgent little brat. that affair on set was nothing but a showmance and when i said that you broke my heart I wasn’t talking about you darling. It’s time for you to go.”

The next day at the Planet, they are all there, but Jenny doesn’t want Shane to sit next to her so they split into separate tables.

As reported by Out in Hollywood, actresses Teri Hatcher and Swoosie Kurtz are set to share on on screen kiss on the hit show Desperate Housewives this March.

The setting of the show is the street of Wisteria Lane in the fictional American town of Fairview, Eagle State. It follows the lives of a group of women, seen through the eyes of their dead neighbor, as they work through domestic struggles and family life, while facing the secrets, crimes and mysteries hidden behind the doors of their beautiful suburban neighborhood.

The show features an ensemble cast, headed by Teri Hatcher as Susan Mayer.

Recently, Gale Harold who plays Susan’s boyfriend, Jackson, has been off of Desperate Housewives as he recovers from injuries sustained in a motorcycle accident. According to Out in Hollywood, two-time Tony winner Swoosie Kurtz will play a lesbian administrator at Susan’s school.

The couple preparing is Bianca Montgomery (Eden Riegel) and Reese Williams (Tamara Braun). Although the episode is set for this Friday the 13th, it will be Valentine’s Day in the Soap Opera world, and a Valentine’s Day wedding is sure romance. However, soap operas are famous for twists and turns in their story lines and this episode should be no exception. There have been incidents of reasonable doubt sprinkled throughout the show leading up to the event, hinting at Reese’s bisexuality and Bianca’s problems with her baby-daddy.

Here is the official story line:

Reese and Bianca decide to have a commitment ceremony in Pine Valley and get married later in Paris, since gay marriage is not yet legal in Pennsylvania where Pine Valley is located. Those plans change as they plan to legally marry in Connecticut. They set their wedding date on Valentine’s Day. Bianca’s cousin, Greenlee Smythe also plans to marry her former husband Ryan Lavery on that same day. The two couples arrange for a double wedding.

Bianca finds out that Reese was once engaged to a man and that she is Reese’s first lesbian partner. She is hurt Reese did not tell her this. She also becomes increasingly insecure in their relationship as she sees her fiance getting closer with Zach (their sperm donor who is also Bianca’s brother in law).

The lesbian wedding is set to take place on Valentine’s Day in the soap opera world, but will air in the real world on February 13th and then again on February 16th.

It looks like the gay bloggers have made an impact on ESPN.

After many gay blogs started to say that the ESPN commercial featuring Shaq O’Neil was homophobic, ESPN issued this statement…..

We have dozens of executions of the “NBA on ESPN RV Tour” online campaign and none are intended to be offensive to anyone or any community of people.

Although I personally didn’t take offense to the ad it seems to have struck many as offensive. I’m glad that ESPN has taken the criticism seriously and has pulled the ad.

I can see how some might take Shaq’s reaction as being homophobic but to me he is having the reaction to the guy getting the name wrong and trying to figure out how we would go over to another player and ask for a “fist-kiss.” I gotta say I agree with Shaq – it’s a stupid name.
